last night, as usual. If he wants them out, why doesn't he hang out with the people he's protecting like Chloe, Stevi, Bobby, Janice etc? Why don't people see that this is why Jenna and Austin were angry at the nomination. He enjoys their company, but in order to appease the public he nominates them.

What is ALL this 'trying to appease the public' crap?

He was annoyed with them, and nominated them. It's really simple.

You're reading WAY too much into this.

The appeasing public crap comes about because everything he's done up to this point has been to appease the public

Here's the most likely explanation.
He doesnt want to be targeted by them, but on the other hand he finds them as awful as every other regular person.
He has to live with them and there are limited companions for chat.
So he is nice and civil and cordial, but he stills tells them when he finds their behaviour unacceptable.

On this forum everyone seems to think that each BB contestant is being as fake and manipulative as possible, always lying always being sneaky and always making a move in the game.
In fact I think that most of the time they are just reacting in the moment to living in an enclosed and restricted environment with people they wouldn't chose to associate with.

Good sense

Complete nonsense

He had his own valid reasons for nominating them. It doesn't mean he doesn't like them or shouldn't hang around with them.

We have seen with his choice of Janice - it's not about friendships - it's about who he feels deserves. He had no reason to nominate any of the others and plenty of reasons to nominate those two.

Should he now ignore them? It looked last night like he was going to sleep in his own bed but Austin dragged him back into his bed.

How EXACTLY? I ask this and no one can give me an answer.

Give me one thing he's done that is clearly and obviously to appease the public.

Agreed. I think he'd clearly cut all ties with them if he could. But he knows resistance just causes more arguments.

He's a lot like me in that regard. He's just biding his time until the end of the show now.

What a lot of people on here don't realise is how gruelling those arguments are. All the remaining HMs are exhausted; there's been very LITTLE fun in the house and I imagine the past month has been very very difficult indeed.

Yes, we finally saw Natasha telling Austin how they were all sick and tired of listening to his vile rants.

I don't think so since Austin's calmed down. They seem to have gone back to the way that they were.

It's a game show where you nominate people for eviction.

I can only assume that you do not watch live feed. He isn't just being courteous or polite or even just having a few laughs. He is almost entirely integrated into a circle of very close friendship with the 2 of them. It really is very confusing to see and very damaging to James in my opinion bearing in mind his keep your enemies closer comment.

I can accept that Austin and Jenna react to bad news incredibly badly but there seems to be a view that negates James nominating what overwhelmingly appears to be his best friends in there because they are volatile people. James did turn on his friends and if James doesn't like their characters and feels they are out of order to the degree that he had to nominate them then he really has to back off from the very close and intimate friendship he has with them or else he lays himself open to us seriously questioning his integrity.

For which she apologised for as soon as he came out the diary room I know what she was doing and maybe it did make him think but it's not the first time he and others have behaved badly and apologised after. Janice has probably apologised to Austin nearly as much as he has apologised back

And where the public ultimately decide. James's decisions are rightly being speculated on by the public.

Are you asking for the impossible though? "clearly" and "obviously"

It's very rare that tactics involve honesty in BB so you'll never be presented with clear facts only balance of probability to varying degree's of strength. You have to use your common sense and ask

1. Is it reasonable to think James voted for Janice as a favour for Chloe. Or is it more reasonable to think he wanted to garner some popularity by avoiding association with Jenna (an unpopular house-mate)

2. Is it reasonable to think he's nominated Jenna for legitimate reasons and then tells her regarding his nomination "you've done nothing wrong, really"

3. Is it reasonable that he nominated Austin because he wanted to do him a favour, or was it a tactical lie to avoid admitting he wanted to avoid association with a loud and aggressive mate.

4. Is it reasonable to sit alone talking to the cameras because he felt like it, or because he wanted to communicate with his audience.

Truth is you could argue (as isolated incidents) a reasonable case for some of the above maybe most but the compound effect of all lead me to one undeniable conclusion. His game is with the viewer. Are they going to fall for it... Sure.

All you've done is used some different words to describe how they talk and get on.
Big deal, I mean so what? You assume what you like, but assuming usually makes you look foolish, be incorrect and shows that your seeking a way of enforcing your view when you don't actually have any case to do so.

It doesn't change what I said it just shows me you're not prepared to be balanced.
It's not that important.

So you've got nothing but you're still saying people who don't agree with you are falling for it?

If anyone's falling for anything it's those seeing things that they can't even point to.

Is this still a discussion?

He nominated them because he was annoyed with their behaviour. That's it. He doesn't dislike them, he doesn't dislike anyone in the house.

I don't know if I need to draw a picture, or need to write up an essay. I might do a 3,000 word essay and list the amount of times Austin has kicked off at others AND James. Never lets him speak, while Jenna and him corner him, asking him questions which he answers... but they say "answer the question" even though he does. Someone who understood why Austin was upset with the letters and told Austin he deserved his letter and he agrees with him, and says "give me a hug" leading to Austin weirdly exploding at James for no reason whatsoever.

Exactly. And he nominated the 2 people who have cornered him and kicked off at him for no reason (and others).

I know I'd rather nom someone close to me if they have been an utter asshole to me and others over someone who has never had a disagreement with me.

Is it reasonable that James betrays Austin and Jenna and then calls himself a "very loyal person"

Not at all.

What is his answer then?

Why did he decide to choose doing Chloe a favour over being loyal to a friend (Jenna)

This is what they want to know, it's what they find suspicious, it's what James will not answer.
