and unfortunately the ep ends with Porsche forgiving JP like I thought!!!

Well it makes sense why it seems Reenie doesn't like Porsche even before revealing Pete abused her.

That was a great episode. When HO can be bothered they can really impress. Hoping for more of the same tomorrow.

Twitter will probably not like it though. They like episodes we don't and dislike the ones we do like.

That JP and Porsche scene might have been good if JP hadn't betrayed Porsche by repeatedly sleeping with her husband and also if he hadn't turned his back on her when he found out about the abuse, it was clear she was lying.

Even though I hate that Porsche has forgiven JP, I would like to see Porsche has some support and fun.

Just going to repeat what I said earlier, there was no emotion from me with this episode, it's all too much, even adding in Porsche being born from that abuse doesn't make me sympathetic. It's overkill.

The sooner the Pete storyline is over the better, Cleo goes from a scared abused clearly pressured girl to acting like Pete's girlfriend who knows what she is doing.

Good idea .

Best episode in a while, mainly because of its simplicity.

Wholly focussed on the McQueen's, great scenes with Nana and Reenie in particular and history repeating itself with Pete and Cleo.

And not a ruddy Roscoe in sight.

Superb episode....see what happens when the people that can act are given the big storylines

They don't need to bury Derek in the wall, do they? It's a natural death. They just say they came downstairs and found him that way. No one's any the wiser. It's not like they bashed his skull in like Nico did Carly ...

I thought he might be the body in the wall after Nana and Reenie kill him, but now he seems to be dying of whatever illness he had, it wouldn't make sense for them to put him in the wall now.

I would like the body in the wall to be Kim or at least a main character, not a guest character. The idea of it is chilling, so it needs to be someone that has made a impact.

Really good episode.

I can kind of see why Reenie doesn't believe Porsche. She sees Pete as the one good thing that has ever happened to her and is so screwed up with her memories and alcohol that she is blinded to the truth. She probably just can't comprehend of history repeating itself in the same way.

Also, I think they alluded to the idea that one rape victim would automatically recognise another when it just isn't true. Reenie thought that Marlena never spotted it because she's never been raped but of course we know that she has. Likewise Reenie didn't see it in Porsche.

Agree on all three there Chewy. Reenie always found it difficult to bond with Porsche as she was always a reminder of Derek

Twitter is a mixed bag, and the reaction seems 50/50 at the moment.

I hate this tweet though:

Then again she's probably just a tweenager waiting for Harry to take his top off.

This episode along with the Loveday episode is what Hollyoaks should be doing.

EDIT: Changed my mind over the Twitter thing, there's more inane bollocks about Freddie and Lindsey or saying how messed up the show is rather than the praise this episode deserved.

I just felt the story was going in that direction. It seems Reenie's bad behaviour started thanks to the sexual abuse & witnessing Derek's physical abuse of Nana. It looks like that all contributed to her having the most problems with Porsche than her other daughters. Also Reenie's still in total denial that Pete could do the same to Porsche, looks like she won't allow herself to believe it.

I must say I'm really glad Nana believed Reenie in the end.

The Loveday episode was excellent. Hollyoaks can really pull it out the bag sometimes, & that's really only happened about 4/5 times this year.

Agreed. I'll always have a soft spot for the McQueens so I hope the writes give Porsche and Mercedes something to do other than shag and screech. Saying that I quite like Mercedes with Joe.

I think there will always be some kind of stigma against single mothers. Not as much but they still get criticised and called a slapper, whore, slut etc. At least round my way they are but it has everything you can think of and none of it is good.

Let's hope she forgives Mercedes as easily.

This is the HO I enjoy. Decent acting, emotional moments with a little comedy in between and an episode we can relate to. Why does the show insist on the crap they give us 90% of the time?

Or Mercedes and Cindy with Browning while Lindsey was in the background cheering them on.

It makes no sense to hide his body buy it could be a way to punish him after what he did. How I don't know but to understand I'd have to think like Kirkwood and no thank you.

It was good because the ep focused on the characters. No OTT reveal of Derek's abuse in the dog etc.... I wish the show was more like this all the time without so many public reveals. Those were powerful emotional scenes between Reenie & Nana.

YAY & snap, no Roscoes!! If ever there was a cause to celebrate this is it?

Really liked the episode, seeing the cycle of abuse. It reminded me of the early days of the Blake storyline.

I'd like to put Nico forward to be in the wall.

That's true. Of course not all rape victims recognise each other but with the McQueen family you'd think one person would pick up on it. Mind you nobody buy JP and Reenie knew about Nana.

It is sad but you do read about rape victims who get pregnant not bonding with the baby due to the reminder.

Ugh! I detest twitter and the tweens. Just shows the type of vapid people on there that watch the show. It's sad they prefer topless boys and affairs.

Tonight, the Lovedays and Ste's diagnosis have been the standout episodes this year.

I would never have thought of it until a couple of posts earlier. It will be interesting if the relationship between Reenie and Porsche will change or if she'll continue to push her away.

This is the HO I wish we could have every night. Good acting, good writing and brilliant all round. It's frustrating when we have the drivel we normally get.

Yup, typical Hollyoaks, after an occasional great ep they follow it by cr*p so you don't get your hopes up that the quality with change for the better!!!
