I wish Hollyoaks... (E4 Eppy - 22/09/2015)

Would have that standard every episode, that was bloomin fantastic.

Simplistic, well acted and also it had genuine emotion. Thats the Hollyoaks I've really missed.

It was amazing due to a relatable episode, excellent acting, a simplistic storyline & a few comedy moments chucked in.

The Lovedays flashback episode was also excellent, but I agree if Hollyoaks was this standard 90% of the time it would be one of my favourite soaps.

It really was. They're in desperate need of a new EP.

Agree, Hollyoaks can be good and daring sometimes.

Does anyone think Hollyoaks could get back to this level almost permanently in the future?

I'd love to think so... I mean they've shown they have the potential to do it when using the right characters and writers.

I think a bit of a clean out would be needed cast wise and BK really needs to be given the boot. I think if BK does end up staying he really needs to stop listening to/going by what the tweens on twitter say.

This is the key, but if the tweens / early teens are the main audience that the show is being aimed at these days its more difficult. They're a fairly easy demographic to sell to rather than the traditional 16-34 bracket.

I'd love for the show to return to it's heyday and episodes like this one, the Loveday one and Ste's diagnosis prove they've still got the talent but only with the support of Lime and Channel 4 can the show get back to its best.

If not, they'll just be tons more topless shots of Harry and Ziggy *yawn*

I couldn't agree with your post any more if I tried!

Fantastic episode, as hard as the McQueen abuse storyline is to view for some it one of the best s/l they've done of a high standard in a long time, it gives me hope that such standards could come back on a regular basis.

It proves that the simple, character driven episodes with good writing are still the best.

Listen up C4 and BK this is what you should be aiming for not death of the w/k in and out.

It was a chance for us to focus more on the McQueens. History seemed to have repeated itself with Nana's partner then Reenie's partner abusing their offspring.
