its odd that femshep is narrating it thought this was supposed to be totally separate from the original trilogy
Only thing it really confirms is that it will be in the same 'game universe' as the Shepard trilogy. If ark theory is correct then who knows how long it's taken them to get from the Milky Way to Andromeda - could be 100s of years later.

There will obviously now be debate about what this means for the end of ME3 - ie. If Shepard's narrating does this canonise 'destroy' as that's the only ending where Shepard survives? Quick answer - no. The ark would no doubt have been launched prior to the end of ME3 - possibly a contingency against the crucible plan failing.

I haven't seen it but, Is it actually femshep, or the woman who voices her, playing a different part?

No, it's definitely Shepard, she identifies herself at the end of the trailer.

It's a nice touch, the passing of the baton. Shepard's trilogy is done, now over to the Andromeda mission.

I absolutely cannot wait to play this game. I was as disappointed as anyone at how ME3 ended, but after four years, damn I'm ready for more!

I wasn't disappointed at all with the ending of ME3, it was pretty epic imo. My favourite gaming series of last gen, can not wait to experience a new Mass Effect game.

Latest;

The will be a lot of changes in the upcoming 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' that's why many people are not really comfortable in calling 'Mass Effect: Andromeda', Mass Effect 4 because it's more of a spinoff than a sequel. The upcoming ME Andromeda will have a multiplayer mode which is rumored to be called 'Horde Mode'. The premise; takes place in the Helius Cluster (a cluster of 100s of solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy), far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard's heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy.

Here's the latest on 'Mass Effect 4: Andromeda' release date, news, and updates.

Bioware confirmed that 'Mass Effect 4: Andromeda' will be released by Holiday of 2016 which will be competing with other massive titles like 'Gears of War 4'. There's few details being revealed by Bioware, but based on the videos being released by the developers the graphics for the upcoming 'Mass Effect 4: Andromeda' is very realistic.

According to Bioware, it is the players who has requested for new maps and new characters and they have all intentions to listen. Needless to say, we won't be seeing 'Commander Shepard' in 'Mass Effect 4: Andromeda'.

According to reports the main character for 'Mass Effect 4: Andromeda' will be fully customizable connected to the character wearing the N7 in the trailer released back in E3 2015.

There are still those who are saying that there'll be some cameo by some old characters, but according to Chris Wynn, "story wise, it wouldn't make much sense."

However, there will be non-character links that will happen in 'Mass Effect 4: Andromeda', including the Mako. The purpose is to make fans "feel at home".

It is believed that Mako will be the main mode of transportation in 'Mass Effect 4: Andromeda'. Micheal Gamble told 'The Escapist', "We're playing around with a bunch of different physics for the Mako. The thing that we have to do is make sure it's as responsive as possible. We've learned a thing or two over the years. In terms of customization, it's been something that we've been looking at for sure, because we feel as though if you're going to be spending a lot of time in vehicles in places, they should reflect you as a player."

According to a Reddit post by 'self.masseffect';
"The next Mass Effect game takes place in the Helius Cluster (a cluster of 100s of solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy), far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard's heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy. You are a pathfinder, a combat trained but un-tested explorer leading an expedition into the Helius cluster to establish a new home for humanity.

As you explore this sprawling series of solar systems (over 4x the size of Mass Effect 3), collecting resources and building colonies, you will encounter the savagery of untamed lands in the form of cut-throat outlaws and warring alien races. To survive and colonize the wild reaches of space, you will need to grow your arsenal, your ship, your crew and make strategic (and often uneasy) alliances to fight against increasingly menacing foes.

Along the way, you will encounter the remains of a once powerful and mysterious alien race, the Remnant, whose forgotten technology holds the key to gaining power in this region of the galaxy. As you uncover who the Remnant were, and the mysteries their ruins contain, you are drawn into a violent race to find the source of their forgotten technology that will determine the fate of humanity."

Mac Walters (Creative Director of Mass Effect 4) told Bioware's Official Blog that they are hoping to bring back the sense of wonder to the game,

"We're working to bring back some of that wonder and sense of exploration that we had in the original trilogy. And while we're making a next-gen title, we want to ensure that we're stepping our game up so that this isn't just Mass Effect with shiny new features.
And we do that by having deep characters and a compelling story with choices that matter. With Shepard, you arrived on the scene as a hero, and you were called forward from there. For the next Mass Effect, however, we've been looking at more of a hero's journey: how you become a legend and what it takes to get there."
Some interesting bits in there.

Edit: Ok, I give up trying to format this properly, and I have no idea why the random number will appear below this bit in the post!

Not sure about this. Enjoyed the first 3, but the ending was guff beyond belief which soured the experience a bit.

Bioware have been going rapidly downhill. The dragon age series started off excellently and has gotten progressively worse. The last one was just rubbish. The first Bioware game i haven't finished (due to sheer boredom).

So i wont be buying this until i here some user feedback.

IMO that made the trailer so much better.

Excellent voice actor, actually played femshep over a guy solely because of her.

That was ea wanting them to hurry up rather than bio ware.

Dragon age origins was good if filled with clichés, 2 was s rushed again because of ea. Inquisition was amazing.
