I've got into doing a lot more streaming of music and radio recently and even without doing this my phone is hitting near the 10GB mark each month. I'm paying around £27.99 for this on EE with some cashback.

I'm amazed where I'm from the digital radio signal is poor, yet 3G is consistent. Does anyone know what the alternatives are from EE that would increase data allowance but keep costs low? Alternatively would a move back to Three be beneficial?

Vodafone and O2 are no-gos where I am as signal is poor. I'm not fussed about 4G as such - although always an advantage.

How many minutes do you use per month?
Three do a SIM only plan with 200 mins and unlimited data for £17 a month.

I use a fair bit of minutes, but I guess I could do more calls over data.

Your phone seems to somehow be gobbling a hell of a lot of data, 10GB a month should be more than enough.

I have 5GB per month on my plan and daily do a lot of streaming American radio from my phone to car radio when on the move of 128kpbs webstreams, plus viewing videos on YouTube, Soundcloud audio and other stuff and usually use just over 3GB per month.

I've yet to use over 4GB in a month.

Hmm - I only browse the internet and social media on my iPhone 6 Plus. I tether to my iPad but again I only use it for browsing. That said it's never out of my hand. I try to use wifi at work and home.

I'm yet to use Spotify or radio apps significantly as I'm worried about increasing the data use.

I use the Reciva Grace radio app which is tied to my WiFi Radio gives me the same Channel Presets and Favourites on both Phone and Radio. Most of my online radio listening is to American stations.

I also use other apps, You Tube, Soundcloud etc, but have yet to use over 4GB per month on my phone plan.

I'd say have a check to see what apps are using your data first, I know you can do this on Android and I would assume you can on iOS. 10GB is a lot to go through without tethering of streaming a lot of video.

Where can I get this? I've only seen reports from April of this not being honoured.

You could always go Bt Mobile, they use EE network, £25 for 20GB, or £20 if you have BT broadband.

I'm not so bothered about speed - I don't think you experience any better speeds when browsing. I do very limited downloading (ironically given my data usage).

BT is a good offer, although I'd prefer to pay for things separately. Is the EE 20GB offer for existing SIM Only customers too? How much? I'm tempted by Three again as the prices look cheaper.

I can't see anything for EE iPhone customers to suggest I can find out where my data goes.

What's current period? Seems a bit of an unspecified period of time. Oh I can reset... bit annoying you can't specify it.

I'd just finished my 12 month, 10GB contract, and rang up to upgrade as they did it for £2 or so less, and they said, actually we have this instead...

Is there a reason why you chose EE instead of Three? If the signal is good in your area and the places you use your phone then Three is by far the best for data. For £22 a month you can get unlimited data with 600 minutes and a 12GB tethering allowance.

It makes sense to go with Three. You can stream HD YouTube, radio and everything, background app updates without even thinking about data usage.

Pricing was going up on Three, I was tempted by cashback, I was impatient about 4G (and then discovered it wasn't that great once I had it!), and EE had the 2G back up in rural areas I commute through. However, there wasn't a huge difference.

I use around 8-10 GB/month. Spotify streaming when driving (mostly a few hurs at weekends, the odd hour one day in the week), and also streaming of spotify or youtube at the gym. It all adds up. Three AYCE is superb.

This is the problem with EE. I go through around 25GB a month on Three, and EE simply don't offer anything that competes with that.

I don't want to have to go back to worrying about how much data I'm using.

Bulk of use seems to come from App Store, Twitter, Chrome, Facebook and Messenger. Difficult to download apps or music sometimes when on the move any other way. I seem to use at least 2.5GB a week.

Haha now that is a plan to never leave massive amount of data with a network with a secure network plan.
