Helen, Iwan, Katie, Anthony, Carol and Daniel's songs are a tad clichéd but good to see not too many recycled songs.

Some really cheesy choices there!

And a few that I don't get the cheese.

Georgia May has a fun song for a Jive.

I Like a Meghan Trainor song, and Dear Future Husband could be fun.

Jeremy Vine dancing to Earth Wind Fire , some dad dancing.

Don't ask me why, but I somewhat think the producers may have had a hand in these choices *insert the late and much lamented roll eye smilie*

Hasn't Helen's song been used like 20 times before? I am looking forward to Ainsley's Tango to Voulez Vous.

not wanting to be a doubting thomas but there is nothing on the BBC Strictly website confirming these are indeed the songs being used so where did you get your info from please? thanks

Awful choices for the Tango as always - expect complete underwhelming performances, but I'm not following those three celebs anyway ! They should go back to the early series and re-use some of the music used then - a lot of it was so much more appropriate. I don't remember a single Sinatra used last year for Foxtrots which is amazing - he was used a lot in the past.

Ah right, I shall put my rolling eyes away until confirmation on the BBC website, it is a wee bit early anyway.

The link to the Daily Mirror article was in the Week one dances thread: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/w...y-come-6496816

I don't know if they are elsewhere as well. Of course Daily Mirror isn't infallible but it seems an odd thing to print if they weren't very sure.

The papers seem more willing to print spoilers for the show this year - giving away the pairings before the launch show and now the songs before they're on the website. I wonder if that's coming from the show or from the papers. I hope they won't feel they can give away results before the result show.

Some good, some weird song choices. Congratulations to everyone who predicted Wake me up before you go go - I thought that was just a joke! The tango choices sound the weirdest to me, sadly as I love a proper tango, but we'll see.

You could probably add Helen and Aljaz's song to that list as well, given her role in 'Call the Midwife'.

well Georgia May has got a good song Dear Future Husband never been used before, fits perfectly with a Jive.

Like i said above i like Meghan Trainor songs, they are happy, fun, they could've been 1960's music.

but i agree with you, some Obvious choices, Peter Andre ain't no other Man, good choice for a Cha Cha.

to me i'm excited for this weekend.

Awful choice of songs and music. Why on earth do I keep hoping that SCD prods might wake up and think about dance and not choose the crappiest songs to appeal to the masses?

They are not only naff, unsuitable and tired, but rarely if ever do they fit the dance.

Geared for the lowest common denominator and the type who clap through every song, off the beat They probably sing along as well.

Maybe SCD should just decamp to Butlins and have done with it?

Could make an interesting, haunting-rather-than-romantic Waltz, though.

Looks like Anton wants to have the jive out of the way when nobody is leaving, clever. Mark my words, he's aiming for that plastic ball this year

Given that I do think the pros have a bit of choice as to what dances they avoid, and Anton managed to avoid it for 6 years, this could very well be the case.

Will be interesting what dance Katie & Anton would skip in the (extremely hypothetical) situation that they made the Semis - Katie specifically said she wants to do the Samba the most (...), so... Rumba? Or, more likely, Argentine Tango (seeing as Anton has never, ever done one)?

And it's not (at least not originally) in waltz time.

James Jordan avoids the samba if he can, think he has been knocked out of the competition every time he has danced one

I would have thought Anton might quite like to give the AT a go...........
