I think, and hope, you are right about that TerryM22

Mark Wright, i didn't like him either, with his spray tanning. and ''i can't dance'' sympathy winning, he can dance, he went to Sylvia young performing arts.

and can't wait for tonight, we'll see the first celeb without spray tan: Georgia, she's against spray tanning.

I seem to remember also that she was feeling very self-conscious about showing her legs and although last night's costume did give her quite a lot of coverage, I think she might feel a lot more comfortable in the longer dresses worn in Ballroom dances.

Carol is just a tiny bit older than me and I have to say that I would feel equally anxious - as a "non-performer" - in appearing in this show when not in the first flush of youth and physical fitness.

Yes, I know she is in the public eye - but she is not a performer and I'd imagine that she is feeling very anxious about all sorts of things - and not only about remembering the required dance steps.

Fair play to her for giving it a go and for looking as if she was thoroughly enjoying herself.

Good for her, I cannot stand the idea of a spray tan either! 😁

Carol looked like she was having a ball, even when she went wrong she never stopped smiling.I completely understand why appearing on a show like Strictly would make someone feel anxious. I remember her saying that about her legs too. However, she has gotten a lot of compliments that she looked fabulous last night and I hope she believes it. Fair play to her indeed.

Anne Widdicombe refused spray tan.

I understand that her reluctance to accept a spray tan was on the grounds that she already had a tan from a recent holiday.

She certainly looked bright orange on the launch show, so I'd imagine that her alleged "aversion" to spray tan didn't apply that night.

When her holiday tan fades over the next few weeks, she'll be glad of a liberal dousing with Ronseal, or else she'll just end up looking pasty and odd.

As did Sophie E-B - a far more aesthetically pleasing example

Or she could be like Pasha who I've read never gets the spray tan as he manages to keep his holiday tan. But if anyone does get sprayed, that's grand but they shouldn't be tempted to double-dip. It's one thing to look tanned. It's another thing to look tangoed 😁

Are you seriously suggesting that Anne Widdecombe isn't aesthetically pleasing???

Spray tanning is part and parcel of competitive latin and ballroom dancing. I don't know why people would have such a downer on it. I would never have considered a spray tan were it not for dance competitions but when I get sprayed for a competition I get the darkest one going.

I don't think GMF is totally against spray tanning - she just has a natural tan from a recent holiday at the moment. In her pictures on google images she looks like she uses a bit of fake tan. Either that or sun beds (which are sooo bad for you!)

I am really sorry, but you seem obsessed with Georgia and I do not think it seems healthy.

You are coming across like a stalker on here and it is very creepy.

or just natural, but it's the dancing what matters, and she did a great job, i would give her a 7.

i find the part she has to remain still with the trick between Giovanni's legs, that's really technical, because one bad move and you're a disaster, and she nailed that.

towards the end it lost speed, but like she said the Jive is a fast dance.

and for the record, i'm not a stalker, just a fan ( now people have seen her dance).

her look on the launch show, was from her holiday.

and maybe she had to accept a spray tan, but she's not a fan of it.

good for her, and her Jive was good

She also refused to dance as well though to be fair. Anyway back to the original point of the thread, I don't think Pasha will reach the semi's this year. Carols "fanbase" is overstated, I don't think she'll be first out but gone by Halloween.

There was no personal attack made, as you well know.

You seemed to assert that there was one way and one way only of teaching. I simply suggested that you might have seen it from a different perspective had you taught for any length of time and at not such a tender age. I taught for five years after I graduated – nothing as exotic as dancing, of course - and to this day I cringe at my youthful assumption that I knew it all.

However, it seems that I was mistaken in attributing the post in question to you. I can only offer my heartfelt apologies. I’m an avid reader of the many ‘dance expert’ threads that appear on this forum, and since I know that the post referred to was made by an Arthur Murray alumna who left dancing to go in to the media, I naturally assumed that it was you.

I really am very sorry – I simply had not realised that there were two resident experts with such closely matching cvs. Do you know her?

Anyway, that's me out of here. This thread has been derailed enough. Oh - I like Carol, her joie de vivre is contagious.

Lol Terry. That made me laugh (for various reasons)!

I like Carol. I still don't think she'll make it to the final (too much to improve in too little time), but she might last a few weeks based on the goodwill she generates and go on a mini dance journey (more local trip than round the world)

*snorts with laughter*

Ugh! I am not a fan of hers (the voice makes me cringe as does the girlishness) but I do feel for her over the spray tan. Ballroom dancers just love it - the more orange the better. Why the hell would anyone want anything that makes them lookthat tarty and deeply naff?
