Seeing BBs gif of Giovanni at the start makes me a bit sad that Olas leaving. I love watching her dance and would have enjoyed a Gio/Ola solo pro dance. She's another 'pocket rocket' IMO.

And to steer away from Giovanni..I am slightly disappointed that we haven't seen one pic of Georgia going to the wrap party. Well, I haven't anyway. I saw Kellie, Katie and those pics of Jay. I've even seen Anton. I didn't expect to see Gio.

However as Georgia was a finalist I imagine she went and expected to see at least one pic of her with family etc. It's just annoying after several weeks of seeing her collecting pizzas every Saturday night. I would have liked to have seen what she wore.

Did she definitely go? She might have stayed at home to finally recover from her bout of Pharyngitis.

I don't regret calling him horrible, that person was sprouting a lot of bile about Georgia even when the majority of people were telling him/her off. But yes, serves me right for feeding trolls, last night I had another lesson about not bothering about trolls.

Can't say Aliona leaving is a surprise she's now the most accomplished pro on Strictly and she'd probably be given no-hopers for a long long time. It's strange because she has the best track record with contenders but the worst with duffers. She just doesn't work as well with them as Natalie, Karen and Iveta does.

Also I'm sure she's nice enough as a person but she always seemed a bit stand offish to me like you never really see her having fun with the other pros (admittedly ironically except the picture above with Gio) she just seems a bit out of the loop. I could be wrong, she just strikes me as one of those people who goes into work makes small talk, doesn't get up anyone's nose but also doesn't bother to make friends. Which isn't bad but also a bit strange when your job is to be really close and personal with these people. Maybe that's why she never did well with 'duffers' with the contestants that dance a step or two you can just concentrate on the performances but with those that arn't very good you have to show some sort of a relationship and sense of fun.

I kind of felt sorry for poor Harry Judd and Matt Baker as well when Aliona kept saying in every interview during the final that this was her best series and Jay was her best ever partner. I know Darren and Lila said that the contestant you win with is the one you have a special bond with which I get because you've spent so long together and had the full experience together but Aliona had that with Harry and nearly with Matt too. I understand if she felt it and said it to Jay personally but I didn't think there was any need to keep repeating it on TV.

Oh dear I've written far more about Aliona than I ever thought I would. I do wish her all the best though.

I think you summed up really well how I feel about her. What this programme really needs is pros who are great with contenders AND duffers and she was only good with contenders. And, let's be frank here, Harry and Jay could be partnered with any other pro and they'd have won regardless, so I can't see this great accomplishment of hers that is winning twice. Kristina, Natalie, Karen, Iveta and even Ola to an extent are great with duffers, but Aliona always gave the impression of "I can't really be arsed with these no hopers, can I?". I'm sure the legend says she is great friends with Tony Jacklin and all but she seems very stand offish. I'm sure she is a lovely girl in her private set up with friends and family but her public persona is a bit of the opposite of that. But I wish her all the best with her future endeavours.

It's a shame that Aliona is leaving - especially when she won but it's been turned into this never ending debate about how they shouldn't have won and the whole 'Kelliewozrobbed' nonsense. Aliona was my favourite female pro (I know she was a bit like marmite to a lot of people) but I always thought she was a beautiful dancer - very expressive. I especially enjoyed the few times she danced with Gio in the group dances

This whole 'Kelliewozrobbed' has kind of put a dark cloud over Jay and Aliona's win. I saw yet another article in the Daily Fail saying that the judges admit Kellie should have won, but it was all rubbish tbh - a lot of comments misconstrued. And it said that Kellie finished 2nd - but there's no way of knowing that seeing as they only release the 1st place and 4th place.

In a complete irrelevant thing I've seen someone saying about Aliona doing her own tour (like Brendan/Anton and Pasha) and it got me thinking who everyone would like to do a tour. I'd love to see Gio do a tour but of course he's not established enough over here to do that, so who would everyone like to do a joint tour. Mine would be:-

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere else Gio is touring with Joanne in the coming year! I've seen Anton and Erin on the Royal Albert Hall once and Vincent and Flavia tour and they were beautiful, both in different ways but both brilliant. There are also dancing weekends and demos.

I read in the MF that he is directing the Sister Act tour next year. He's also responsible for the Strictly Tour.

Thanks VM well hopefully after the tour something will come of this for Georgia. Somewhere on the MF someone mentioned she could/ might go back to Corrie which I can't see as a good move for her but presumably just speculation as her character wasn't killed off.

I doubt she'll go back to Corrie unless it was just cameo because one of her characters family members was killed off.

Dear oh dear ive spent so much time on the main Strictly forum this year it's only now when the threads on there are getting ever more repeitive, pointless or downright bizarre that I've started to look elsewhere for my Strictly/Georgia fix & stumbled on this thread!!

When the celebs were annoumced this year I thought they sounded rather a dull bunch tbh!! I knew Georgia as I'm a big Corrie fan so decided I would support her even though I'd never really taken much notice of her in the show, beyond being pretty, & didn't particularly like the character she played!! However from the moment she danced that first week & her reaction to everything I thought yes, I'm going to like this girl a lot!!
From then on i have just loved her more & more each week right throughout the series!!

Her whole attitude, her lovely down to earth northern personality, her unbridled youthful exuberance & enthusiasm, her truly lovely partnership with Giovanni, like a cross between brother/sister & best mates, her totally natural & genuine emotional reactions, the tears of excitement & dances of joy, but above all the beautiful way her dancing progressed under Gio's expert & patient tuiton from 'enthusiastic but pretty untidy' in the first few weeks to the graceful perfection of that American Smooth, the energy, joy & spot on footwork of THAT Charleston, then finally culmimating in that AMAZING opening section of their showdance which to my mind was criminally glossed over in the judges' comments!! How the hell she did that with such poise, balance grace & beauty whilst blindfolded was just incredible to me!!

Anyway to summarise I have never enjoyed a series more, never loved a contestant more & certainly never become so involved in he whole thing as I have this year & that is largely down to Georgia, a true unspoilt gem!!
The moment after the Charleston when Craig said he eould be delighted to include her in any of his West End shows, & her genuinely, shocked, delighted, emotional & modest reaction summed up all I have loved about her throughout the series & I really hope the Strictly experience opens many exciting doors & avenues for her in the future!!

With that same grounded, hard working & enthusiastic attitude she has the ability to go far!!

Hello everyone (or anyone around!)

Lovely words notdebbiedingle about Georgia and Gio - they certainly were a wonderful partnership

I've just been browsing the MF and my oh my I have to say some of them are a leetle bit gullible especially with the Georgia and Anton thread that's on there - I must admit I did stir the pot but you can clearly see that the person who created the thread was having a laugh - there's no such article (is there? - now I'm doubting myself!!!)

Was also on the Not an Appreciation thread which has is now just an extension of the Jay thread. I was going to be brave and say that I didn't like Jay's Charleston but then thought better of it - didn't want to get a wall of abuse thrown at me for not liking a dance which has been heralded as spectacular/the best Charleston of the series/best Charleston ever on SCD. For me I simply didn't like it - but hey that's just me - personal taste. Yet I was watching Jay's tango before in comparison to Kellie's and I have to admit I love Jay's tango and was put off Kellie's tango by the stupid faces she and Kevin were pulling and the weird bit near the start where I have no idea what she's doing!!

But of course my favourite tango is Team GG's because for Gio to have come up with a tango to the Ghostbusters theme tune is brilliant (+ he looked sooo hot - think it was the green hair spray/dye)

There is a lot of chatter (still) over on the MF about the 'kelliewozrobbed' stuff and I feel really bad for Georgia and Katie because they've effectively been ignored due to all this kerfuffle. She wasn't robbed because the judges didn't have a deciding say on the winner. They were just 'guiding' voices - but who listens to them anyway?? I know I take what they say with a pinch of salt because they are so inconsistent that it's stupid. I'm no dance expert but I know what I like when I see it and clearly the GBP didn't like Kellie's dances.

I would have to agree about Jay's Charleston ( don't buy Aliona's claim for a minute that 'drop' was intentional!!) Also his showdance ws something of a disappointment but I don't actually begrudge his win as he seems a nice genuine lad (unlike some of his fans) & in general, in pure dance step terms he has been one of the best male celebs I can remember!!
As for Kellie I think what she has achieved whilst working a mega busy soap schedule has been outstanding & I take my hat off to her but at the end of the day she performed 3 dances which were a bit too similar for me, ie all high octane, chuck yourself around & have a good time stuff, whereas Georgia performed 3 totaly different dances requiring totally different emotions & nailed the 'performance' ×100 on each one of them, plus with Kelly & Kev none of the judges thought to mention or mark he fact that you don't have a cheesy grin on your face all the way through a tango!!
Finally I know what you mean about the Georgia/Anton thread, though a couple of the posts in there were brilliant! Did a little pot stirring myself too, nice to have the odd light hearted comedy threads too!!

I'm up, but I really should be going to bed cos work today. But I re-watched the final and noticed a few things. I agree about the main forum. I'm kinda disapointed because previously when I've really got into a reality TV show there's always been a fair bit of interesting chat after the final but down there it's all;

Dislike for the Cliftons; Which I have defended because it's so ridiculous, but I'm losing the will to live on that battle. One nice KK thing I noticed tonight- right at the end in the Caluditariam just before the winners announcement. All the celebs, some pros and Claudia and Tess are there doing their bit to camera. Georgia is well, she looks like she's going to break down with emotion barely holding it together. Most people are larking about. Jay is blank faced (sorry!) , Aliona bored, looks like she's waiting for the bar to open and everybody else is ready to party.

Anyway noticing Georgia Kellie catches her eye does a sort of 'are you alright?' look and then blows her a kiss.. I should absolve Giovanni in this because he's standing behind her and can't see her face. She puts her hands on her shoulders and he grabs them, so brownie points to him but I just thought it said a lot about Kellies empathy and I can only imagine that it's not just Kevin who was well liked in that couple automatically because he's a Clifton.

Some people just don't want to acknowledge that KK may have been more well liked behind the scenes than their faves.

That romance that never was; Well my view is that Jay is, like it or not, extremely popular with the public at the moment and the rags have to have an angle to write about. There's also a certain section who want them to be together, never mind that pesky fact that she's married, so hey presto- Love triangle.

Personally I've never believed they're at it. I can see him being keen on her but whilst I think she's very fond of him I think that it's just the way Aliona operates. That's not a criticism of her BTW, just an observation of how she's extremely adept at tapping into the emotions and personality of her partner and adapting her style to get the best out of them.

Oh and don't get me started on that thread that isn't an appreciation thread (of anyone but the boy wonder).

I don't buy the 'intentional' drop claim either because it just looked out of place and messy from what I can remember. It's pretty much the only thing I remember of the dance itself and that's not really a good thing.

I agree I'm not taking anything away from Jay in his victory either - he was very consistent and probably the harshest judged over the series due to his ability, maybe undermarked a few times. But I agree about some of his fans - they will not give anyone else credit and even in his victory they're still bashing the other contestants. I just hope he doesn't meet some of them!

As you said Kellie did exceptionally well to juggle SCD and Eastenders + family - all credit to her. But her three dances especially two of them were the too same-y. They didn't show a clear difference in style or skill. They didn't showcase all of what she had been taught - she was the only one out of the three at the end who didn't do Latin or anything Latin based. Jay did ballroom/a mix/Latin and Georgia did Latin/a mix/Char-less-ton )which who know's what they categorise it as in SCD) while Kellie did ballroom/a Charleston disguised as a Lindyhop and a Charleston. Plus to me her showdance was a mess and I like watching Lindyhop when done properly. And oh the faces - her's was what my Mum calls it 'Stage School Face' - over the top. But I don't think Kevin can do a serious face?!

Welcome to team GG you've pretty much summed up how I feel about Georgia too! I'm sure she will do amazing things in the future and I would definitely go and see her in a west end show or something!

I think if anyone was robbed it's team GG, through the course of the series they have been the most consistent and they did not disappoint in the final, I don't think they got the credit and scores they deserved in the first half especially for the show dance! It was just beautiful and the emotion in it really made me feel it! Of course we had that amazing charlseton though and they really ended on a high!

No one was robbed though, jay was always going to win, people on the main forum need to accept that and move on!

Fully agree re the Showdance as having watched it a few times I think it should have scored at least a couple of 10s. Such innovative choreography and so much emotion from them. As you say Jay winning was a foregone conclusion but just for GG to have had another perfect score would have reflected their achievement. MF does tend obsess a lot and it's a shame that GG don't get more (positive) comments over there.

Hi fellow GGers. Prepare yourselves for a short novel.

I've been following this thread (as well as with the rest of the forum) for weeks now, but for one reason or another haven't been able to register and set up my account (with great frustration).

Anyway, firstly a big thankyou to everyone for their comments and posts related to GG. It's been really great to see a community of likeminded people express some of the pure joy and love of watching Georgia and Gio on and off stage.

Firstly, let me say - Georgia was the best dancer, who came the furthest as a dancer, and Giovanni was the best choreographer in this series, in my view.

By the end of the series, Georgia was playing completely different characters and dancing completely different dances, requiring completely different techniques, superbly well. For example, some of her spins (the ones in the showdance and the rumba spring to mind particularly) were breath taking. The lyricism and fluidity of her movements were similar to that of a real dancer. The section in the showdance where Gio does a series of absurdly fast, tight solo spins, followed by Georgia doing the same (not quite as well, obviously) and then she spins straight into hold and continues spinning are ridiculously good - fabulous technique, and to me on a different level of bravery and execution than anything that any other celeb dancer even attempted throughout the series.

And the reason Gio's choreography was so good, for me, is that it was purely about showing Georgia off. After their first routine (the Jive) where Gio was perhaps a little to flashy and showy himself, I think he really pulled back on his own dancing and understood that it was mostly about Georgia and that his role is a facilitator. Whereas other pro's choreographed really well, I still feel that they made it too much about themselves (Gleb with the floor crawl, and the cape going on in the Paso, Kevin with the 'oh yeah' to the Kinks etc).

And the showdance that Gio choreographed was a beautiful story all about Georgia's experiences and journey. It was a story, rather than a pick n mix, or yet another Lindyhop/Charleston in exactly the same character. That's what a showdance should be.

Ha ha!! I must admit I fell for that thread! I think it shows how little we think of the tabloids that anyone would imagine they would print such rubbish. I would think that Georgia must be in stitches if she has read it. Would it have been a love pentangle? Her, Sean, Jay, Giovanni and Anton!

I notice that Georgia has gone very quiet on her Twitter. After all the hard work and emotion of the last few months I would think she must be absolutely shattered. Anyway, I hope she comes back fighting fit in the New Year and that she has a great tour with Gio and that lots of amazing opportunities come her way in 2016 and beyond! She certainly deserves every success!!

I also wanted to briefly touch on their personal relationship. I'm aware that it's generally bad form to speculate about possible feelings or relationships between the dancer and the celeb, without any evidence. I'm going to press right ahead, because I feel that people have been dancing around the subject without actually saying it.

I think there's something more than friendship/brother and sister type feelings personally. I'm not saying that it's been acted upon by them or that it hasn't. But having observed their behaviour and interaction far too closely on far too many VTs, I just don't buy that they don't have stronger feelings for each other.

The way they touch each other and the way they look at each other in so many moments. There are too many examples to refer to but I'll just mention a few, if you'll forgive my indulgence -

1) The bit where she's gently caressing his neck after the final in the sitdown interview. You just don't touch someone like that if you consider them just a friend or a brother.
2) At the end of the showdance, where he puts his arms around her waist and across her boobs. Again, that is not the embrace of someone who sees you like a little sister.
3) This - https://vine.co/v/iKbvVDqqiEB. Look at the way she's looking at him while he talks, the way she's nervously playing with her hands, and the way she grabs his waist and closes her eyes. It's not a sibling moment.
4) The way he talked about enjoying doing the Rumba with her because she's so sexy and gorgeous. You don't say that if you view her as a little sister.

These are my opinions and impressions. I'm not saying for a moment that they are fact, or that they've done anything that would mean she's been unfaithful to her boyfriend.

The only time they both started talking about brother/sister/friend type feelings was right at the end of the series. Again, it's only my opinion, but I think they might've agreed to do that to minimalise any speculation in the press, to protect the feelings of her boyfriend.

And obviously they will be going out on tour together soon, and presumably staying in hotels with the rest of the cast. I would be incredibly concerned about that if I was her boyfriend.

If I saw two of my friends behaving in the way that Georgia and Giovanni were together, the body language, the eye contact, the touching....for me there would be absolutely no question that they were already together or in the process of getting together.

Just to re-iterate once again, these are my impressions and opinions.
