The Gleb/Anita interview was where I first started to get Gleb better... Gethin thawed him out a bit and he seemed more relaxed. Or maybe Georgia and Giovanni did... Did you catch the thing he said to Georgia (Gleb, I mean), something about taking her out on the town, was it?? I just wondered then if there was a personality mismatch with Anita that worked on the dance floor and in the training room but didn't show either of them especially well in conversation???

Love all the GG interviews. Shamefully, I think I've watched them more than the dances ”

Yep LOL, just watched again.

Anita gets a question about how she's going to celebrate being in Blackpool and she gabbles on awkwardly about going on the town with Gio and Gleb. I love Anita but she can't half gabble on sometimes. Anyway, whilst she's gabbling, Gleb, the big cool flirt, says 'I want to go out with Georgia'. It just made me laugh.

Moving on!

I'm with you on that one. We can offer respite care, refreshments and light entertainment.

This is how I feel about Gleb, like he is an exotic creature, like a peacock who should be put on a perch and admired. I didn't like him in the beginning; the stone face, the 90's boyband looks (bandanas ahoy) but I have to say I've been converted. I know people (me included) keep banging on about pro dancers having the "right" background but I think people like Gleb are needed, they bring something different to the table and make it interesting, otherwise it would be too samey. I really hope he's back next year if only to bring good old Len in hives again

Not a hip shaking dance but you can see why even in his old age he is still a brilliadancer, very light on his feet (despite being a miserable grumpy goat) . And look who comes to get his partner at the end:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKRI8JbTQj8

I've had a look at Georgia and Giovanni's twitter feeds and nothing new to see there. Gio has already said he's coming to UK in the new year and Georgia is probably on her hols now, so it's all understandably very quiet. I suppose when the tour starts we'll see more of them in the press. The tour starts on 22nd Jan so let's hope we hear something from either of them before that.

I've been watching their early dances again and the Jive is what stands out most to me. I suppose it's the best of their early dances and if the judges chose Kellie's Tango which was week 1, I can't see why they couldn't have chosen GG Jive. In my opinion, choose the Rumba was a bit unfair because while the other dancers repeated 2 dances and did a new dance, GG had to actually repeat 1 dance, change 1 dance and learn a third one. The judges' choice is not something coherent and if they choose to keep it next year I hope they choose more wisely. Not that I didn't like to see it again but I would have preferred to see something more uptempo due to their showdance being slower than a Char-less-ton or a Samba.

ETA: apologies to my fellow GGers if any one of you was upset by the unpleasant events of yesterday ”

No probs from me!! I wasn't sure whether Toasted Toad was being genuine in his praise for GG but it was a little tactless to start picking holes in Giovanni's training methods on the GG appreciation thread, not to mention the fact what he said was totally inaccurate!! Giovanni and Georgia have in fact taken criticism on board every week & improved every week by doing so!! What about her spins in the final Charl ess ton compared to the first time round, she never veered an inch!!
Also I fully agree that it was totally unnecessary of TT to come on here spouting venom against Kellie & Kevin, a partnership who have been the most consistent all series with no real 'off weeks' & who fully deserved their place in the final three!! Apart from that I developed a bit of a soft spot for Kellie as she was lovely to Georgia most weeks, giving her a hug whenever she did a good routine & seeming to kind of 'mother' her a bit!!

It would be great if everyone could just see that final three for what it was , three great dancers who were all winners in their own way, Kellie with the judges' praise & good marks, Georgia with that brilliant comment & offer from Craig & Jay with his glitterball!!
We all had our favourites for whatever reasons, with me it was just the grace & emotion that Georgia put into every performance that won me over, her performances stirred up emotions in me that I didn't get with any of the other contestants, much as Jay was probably technically better & possibly deserved his win for that!!

Hello all

I don't know what GG dances I want to see the most on the tour - think I'd love to see their Char-less-ton, AS, Samba or Tango more than anything, but there are a couple I don't think they will do or consider and that's the Waltz (the only one of their dances I have trouble remembering) and their Cha-Cha-Cha. I also don't think that their Rumba is a big room dance (if you understand what I mean). Whatever dances they perform need to project around a large space so really in my mind they need to be 'big' dances - one's with flair and impact - so I'm guessing (like others) the Char-less-ton will be making an appearance.

All I do know is I can't wait to seem them on the tour - eek!!!

I loved that interview

Firstly, I liked Glebs response to the Blackpool dancefloor. We're so used to the automatic response from pros and celebs every year 'its amazing, its so special, its so different from any other ballroom, its such a privilege to be even inside it' - I liked the fact he said it just might be old

Anita gabbling on about taking the boys out was also a funny moment...Giovanni and Georgia weren't listening to her at all at that point as Giovanni was too busy stressing over the question on his rock that he knew he had to read out and couldn't understand! He was trying in vain to get help from Georgia as to what it was all about Then Gleb randomly says he wants to take Georgia out Georgia and Giovanni who hadn't been listening are a bit confused...Giovanni looks up and says 'whats going on?'

And Giovanni is able to dodge the stressful moment of having to talk about cod and scampi by subtly passing the rock over to Gleb just in time! Phew

Going back to the Kevin thing....I appreciate I'm in the minority with how I read it (and it was no biggie anyway) I'm just probably a bit oversensitive when it comes to GG and I just saw it as an unecessary comment that made them feel a bit awkard. Maybe I was being a bit bitchy bringing it up But as I said, I do like the guy...apart from backing up Georgia, the majority of my posts on the MF have been responding to horrible posts either about him or Peter Andre! He does seem to attract horrible comments on line, but he is not unpopular (and he knows it) he has got lots of support out in the general public, plenty love him - wouldn't have got to the final three times in a row otherwise.

And on the subject of Giovanni and his teaching....hes been amazing with Georgia, spins included! She was a bit wobbly in week 1 jive....but look at her spins in week 3 rumba - even Craig was amazed at how sharp and clean they were. Yes, she was criticised for her wobble in the samba, but I LOVED that dance so much, I'd easily take the wobble in it, than have the wow factor taken out of it, in order for it to be danced perfectly. Never mind, the fact she beat herself up about the mistake meant she had nailed it in practice - it wasn't beyond her capability, she just had a wobble on the night. I know I've said this many times, but I'd have loved to see the celebs do that dance - I don't think any of them could have mastered it and performed it like Georgia.

Giovanni not only improved Georgias dance, but he really knew the exact point to take her - in terms of really pushing her to her limit (as Giovanni would say 'MORE') getting her to do stuff she didn't even think was possible, yet not overwhelming her. Her contemporary stuff in the showdance was fabulous. And I thought her spins in particular were amazing and underated (well at least not talked about enough)....especially the way she was able to seemlessly get into hold after them. She showed her talent in this before the final - she may have had a wobble in the samba, but those spins at the end (and finishing off in hold) was really good...and she did the same impressive spinning into hold in the VW, rumba as well as a few others that I can't remember.

Hey guys Hope all my fellow Team GG fans have been enjoying the festive season!

Aw, it's been nice reading the comments about the Blackpool interview. That was my favourite one of the series and it was lovely reminiscing about it. It was like watching four friends chat and have a laugh about their crazy Blackpool adventure. Regardless of who they get paired with next year I'll never forget Giovanni and Gleb's first partnerships and their debut on Strictly. I really did enjoy this series even if I was a teeny bit disappointed in the final. I kind of feel like Blackpool was "my" final tbh. Teams GG and Glita were at the height of their powers and owned the night. It was a bit anti-climatic at times after that with Georgia's illness going into the final and Anita's nosediving scores from the judges, so Blackpool will go down as my highlight of Strictly 2015

I'm still not over Anita not being in the final. I think it's pretty sad we missed a Glebtacular showdance. I can just guess what he would have prepared, maybe cannons, helicopters, explosions, a real waterfall... who knows what goes in the mind of that beautiful creature!

Because I'm a lazy mare, could please someone post the link for that Blackpool interview? I want to to see it again after reading your comments. Ta!

Ah VicsMum this I agree was a major loss to the final as I can only imagine the "all guns blazing" dance that it would have been. We may see one at some stage I guess but with Anita it would have been quite spectacular as she knew no fear as far as Gleb's choreography was concerned!
I propose that there is a great argument for Gleb and Anita to do their showdance on tour as well as for GG to do a third dance - the AT That would round it off perfectly!

hello all ...... I know we've moved on from the events of the other day but I just wanted to say that I agree with these two posts, in fact I agree with almost everything that's posted here so, obviously, great minds think alike

this is such a lovely, friendly thread and I learn something new every day, thanks to Dervla for the *phatic expression* ..... I wonder if cats do this as well as monkeys or aren't they social enough

anyway, tonight I shall watch the GG clips on Youtube as I have a free evening at last, am really missing Strictly now but will be looking forward to some clips and pictures when the tour starts

I echo this. I dread to think of the backlash if any Jay supporters' views were brought into question on their own turf.

You were totally justified, Vicsmum, and all is well.

BIB I imagine that it may have be something like this. Not only possible water cannons, a trench of water but half a galleon too. The Russian version is such a weird show. Not keen on Glebs Hitler mustache and I was oddly transfixed by the hole in her tights, Anita is much better groomed..

Gleb has improved and moved on, although he still doesn't do subtle.

Back on topic. I echo those views who want to see Georgia do the AT on tour. It's the one dance I'm really sorry we'll never see her and Giovanni do.

And please use this music.

Evening all (just stopping by after going to see Star Wars:The Force Awakens for the second time - I'm such a nerd!!)

I'm here to grace you all with some (mind-numbing) stats

In the course of a week GG's dances on YouTube are as follows:

Jive - 326,919 - up by 13,232
Waltz - 45,263 - up by 814
Rumba (original) - 119,054 - up by 3,445
Quickstep - 78,501 - up by 3,511
Salsa - 105,869 - up by 10,315
Tango - 77,363 - up by 2,158
Samba - 218,042 - 10,677
Char-less-ton (original) - 284,079 - up by 15,285
American Smooth - 90,672 - up by 4,816
Paso Doble - 56,154 - up by 5, 570
Foxtrot - 54,233 - up by 4,374
Cha-Cha-Cha - 48,392 - up by 11,211
Viennese Waltz - 32,384 - up by 4,864
Rumba (final) - 19,235 - up by 5,299
Showdance - 35,991 - up by 10,651
Char-less-ton (final) - 27,827 - up by 7,697

I'd love to see their American Smooth reach 100,000, their Cha-Cha-Cha hit 50,000 and final rumba get to 20,000.

As you can see their lowest viewed dance on YT currently is their final Rumba (but that's probably because when you type in Georgia and Giovanni rumba it lists their original rumba first). Also their showdance is the lowest viewed of the three finalists - so it'd be great to push that one up by about 10,000.

I might add that their highest viewed Char-less-ton is around 5,000 views short of Peter and Janette's.

No pressure of course

Gaymazing, non? I'd already seen a couple of clips of the Russian show and it is incredibly weird but in a funny way. Their Claudia is a boy and the interviews seem to go on and on and on. And the blonde judge is the Glebwife, isn't she?

Thank you VM, Very Happy New Year to everyone too. I have finally relented and followed Giovannis twitter. I don't usually follow some people even those I like because, I can't quite explain it, I don't want to feel like a stalker. But Giovanni seems to keep his twitter on a more light, and less personal level, so that's OK.

It's funny how Strictly has affected everyone. At work yesterday searching for suitable upbeat tracks to play my brain had a freeze and I asked 'who are The Wanted?' and a sixty odd year old tutted (secret Jay fan methinks) and said 'That's Jay's band!' which amused me no end. So now, post Strictly he's the second member of that band I know apart from the bloke who used to date Michelle Keegan. It's an education, I tell you.. I should really get more high brow in the new year. Nah, not really I'll still be here catching up on news and the tour

Anyway, whatever you do, wherever you are, whoever you're with, love and light to you all and have a great new year!

Hi Everyone!

Just popped in to wish all GGers a happy, peaceful and prosperous 2016.

It's nice that Gio is sounding so positive and excited on his Twitter. Seems as if he might have several projects lined up apart from the Strictly tour. I could see him turning up on telly in something like Saturday Kitchen. Food heaven - some luscious Italian dish...... Food hell - black pudding!!

Speaking of the tour which I have never seen, can any tell me how it works. Does each couple appear every night, and how is it scored? Does the audience vote or is it decided on the judges scores?
