Gio is very funny, his take on the Scouse accent (Mel asked which ones he'd encountered on his tour of the UK) drew plenty of laughs, it sounded like he was coughing something up! Ainsley was great too, his tango had me crying with laughter!
As for Georgia's birthday mention, she did get a lovely round of applause/cheers but I definitely got the impression she didn't want too much fuss made. She probably felt that audience had come to see Strictly Live and not her 'birthday party', and I think I'd feel the same in her shoes. I'm sure they all had a great celebration afterwards!”

Thanks for your great report, I'm so glad you were able to offer a better viewpoint than me regarding 'kiss-gate'... I've just checked my mum's ipad vids (which are very blurry but she managed to catch the whole of the dance) - you're right that they do kiss at the end - I think I missed it because my eyes were fixed on them actually on stage as opposed to on the screen - it truly is all about angles and where you're sitting on the night as to what you get to see, maybe looking at the screen is the best bet

Also re the applause/cheers/general GG reception from audience - it again depends on where you're sitting - in my section they were very subdued and polite applause was all they could muster for most of the acts except Gleb and Jay... I found that I was the only one who whooped and cheered when Georgia did her amazing Charleston lift and Gio did his spectacular multiple spins at the beginning of the AS... I'm glad jivingmissdaisy was surrounded by more lively and appreciative people

BIB: Maybe my disappointment is that they didn't get enough of an applause - they deserved to own the night and I don't like the fact that they are practically overlooked because a) they go first for both dances and b) their dances don't have the wow factor on stage like Anita's Paso or Jay's Jive

All in all none of this reduces their obvious enjoyment of the show, nor ours as fans... I wish I could go again

As far as I am aware voting isn't allowed from outside. When you vote inside the arena you get a confirmation text to say you have voted but someone posted on another thread if you voted outside the arena you don't get the confirmation text. So vote wouldn't count.

I've seen people on Twitter who have said they vote from the outside - they say it works. At the beginning numbers for all couples were flying around. Not that I think many do it nor that it would make one jot of difference to the result.

I think you are quite right about it depending where you are sitting, who is around you in the audience, etc. Somebody in the Jay & Aliona thread mentioned the strange acoustics at Wembley and I noticed this too.

Gio's spins at the start of the AS were stunning and did get lots of 'woos' and handclaps where I was sitting.

Im throwing all my toys out (my neighbours are calling me the mad toy lady) again over the news that GG weren't in the top 2 and lack of acknowledgement over her birthday (damn you craig!) Giddy over news of 3 birthday kisses though!!

Knock knock, Jay fan here reporting on snippets from last night.

Gio had a nasty moment in his white tails, it looked like his shoe slipped on something on the podium, it caused me a oh moment but he recovered superbly.
His spins are awesome.
He and Aliona make a Good pairing and look to have fun, lots of banter
Looked as if Jay tipped Georgia's hat off prior to dancing, hat on floor, she picked it up, and not sure what happened next but it was on the floor again, think gio flipped it with his foot at one point.
She is the smiliest lady, she bounces around the arena waving, just delightful.
Gios accents are really good!
Thought it was ℗' poor there was no rousing happy birthday for G

So, a group of us Jay fans went to the hotel to lurk. In came your pair,so we decided to sing happy birthday. It happened to be one of our groups birthday as well. She looked really pleased, big smile, came over, can't remember what was said but was to our other birthday girl. They were very smiley, very 'together ' . She was clutching what looked like a champers bottle. They went off in the lift.
Earwigging a conversation of show related people sat on the sofa, it was obvious a party was happening. GG reappeared very glammed up, and exited the hotel. She had really high heels on. (Daft what you notice !)
She is really teenytiney. Very very slim built but the thing I noticed above all was her smile. It really is beautiful, lights up her face, I think it's what draws your eye to her.

Will post anything else that I remember. For anyone going, I recommend making a poster, and waving it madly. Worked for us, we got a jay wave , smile, a thank you, and a heart thing you do. With your fingers . I didn't see any other posters, mind you wasn't looking, but it stands out. Make it shiny to catch the light. 😜 If you are going, you will have a fab time.Although there is voting, It's a show, and frankly the 'competition' is secondary to the great atmosphere, fab dancing, general hilarity and great band and singers. Back ' home' now ,bye

Eta, just looked at my camera, I have a film of the White tails dance. Currently discussing how to make it accessible.

Ah yes, the slip! There were a few rose petals left on the floor so might have been one of those. I'd forgotten about it by the end of the dance (the kids might have had something to do with that!) and it wasn't mentioned by the judges.
Glad you enjoyed the show, Jay really is a lovely dancer - if GG couldn't win I'm glad it was him!

That's sad - it seems the clearest videos (i.e. with the most detail are shot from the Screen and no flares from spotlights).

Lovely to be there and I would think the live music is great.

Thank you for that report - so pleased they were off to a party, very nice for her birthday.
I only realise how very small and thin Georgia is when you see her in a line up of all the celeb ladies ... as you say very teeny !
There seems to be a lot of horseplay going on between Jay and Georgia, in one finale sequence we saw on video he picked her up and tried to run off with her.

Very well done getting that wave from Jay x

I'd never heard of Georgia before Strictly as I don't watch Coronation Street but I completely agree with the bib, also, Georgia should be proud to be with Giovanni ... I know I would be, as I have a small crush on him in case you didn't know

..... imo he's the most gorgeous male pro on Strictly, a fantastic dancer and choreographer, can play the drums, has a lovely accent and a great sense of humour and I think Team GG are the best looking couple on Strictly

I think everyone is still in bed! I've done some serious Twitter stalking (GG and all other celebrities and pro dancers) and nothing from anyone!

Ruby - I watch Corrie and Georgia was always very popular with the male audience. She is utterly gorgeous!
As is Gio. I thought, from the launch show, there's no way that isn't going to happen. I did then remember she was with Sean so stopped entertaining the idea - until Blackpool week when I remember saying 'they'll be this year's Strictly curse' to my friend, to which she replied 'no way, she has a boyfriend' to which I replied 'just you watch. No I couldn't - went to sleep for a time then wide awake !

Couldn't stand the rampant crab either - not at all what we want on Strictly , more suitable for burlesque and very unseemly for his female partners.
First few weeks of this series I really loved Anita and still think she is a great woman and a jolly good sport - but I don't think the 'wonderful' Gleb did her any favours.
Instead of concentrating on perfecting her dancing skills and showing them to best advantage his choreography seemed more about showcasing himself.
Thank goodness Georgia didn't get partnered with him.
I don't know much about dance really except as a Strictly viewer but it does seem to me that Giovanni curtailed his own super moves to allow Georgia to shine - week one's Jive was the last time we saw him give it anything like the full Monty - he did fill in a bit during the Cha Cha Cha but Georgia needed that !

I absolutely agree no one is to go anywhere near that other thread - don't encourage them !

Ah so many thanks for the great show reports - Debatable, Daisy and Rose .... it really brings it to life for us here and I'm so pleased there was the kiss plus two more! Also thanks to all the Jalionas for popping in with more snippets for us

It comes across so well in all the reports just how happy GG are together and I have to say those photos posted yesterday really are stunning. Really looking forward to hearing what they do post-tour and I'm sure we will have many happy events and happenings from GG to celebrate here going forward

I was thinking exactly the same Sandy when looking at the birthday photo from Giovanni yesterday. When did it all change for them or was it a gradual dawning? Georgia says they clicked from the word go. Things definitely seemed different after BP or were they just not able to hide their feelings as much? Maybe if they give an interview further down the line they might be more open about it when as you say its become very old news.

Looking at GG now it seems crystal clear they were made for each other. Giovanni seems to have had such an effect on Georgia in terms of her confidence and happiness - she just sparkles. Although they have been together for a matter of weeks they have gone through such an intense experience .. not only Strictly but whatever challenges in Georgia's personal life were there too, that they know each other as well as a couple who have been together much longer.

Just dropping in to let you all know our amazing news - Ace was given the all clear this afternoon! Biopsy results show he's officially cancer free! Thank you all for your sweet messages throughout our difficult time.

So good to see how much this thread is growing, can't wait to be able to sit down one day and catch up!
