Sat through that boring ITT to learn a whole lot of nothing. Apparently this change is 'exciting'. Not to anyone but you Zoe hun, but that's all we're going to get.

So it's Anita and the inscrutable Gleb tomorrow and much as I've liked them in the past, I think I'll give that one a miss. What's the betting we'll get a 'did you ever think you'd get this far, WITH NO DANCE TRAINING?' eh?

Seriously, are 'getting to the the end' shows all as boring as this? Why don't they invite previous contestants, or even the pros (not Cliftons) to liven things up. The singing was good but really this companion show is the puffiest piece of puff shows, a souffle of nothing. Probably doesn't help if you don't care for the couple that night and Captain Smug and Katie are annoying me at the moment, so that was probably it.

Oh well. Georgia and Giovanni are training which is good because with some of the rumours and supposition going around last night (probably most in my own head) it was easy to think that Georgia was ill and/or having a meltdown/not bothering any more. Not overkeen on the song, 'I Will Survive' seems to suit Kellie or Anita better but yeah, it's an anthem so there's that.

So they will be OK to dance really well on Saturday and then it's up to the Gods, or the dances gods (judges).

Unfair that a lot of the criticism on the BBC board seems to be that she's got easier dances now when in fact Georgia was really looking forward to the AT, and it is a standout kind of dance for the SF after a DO. Plus the music was great!”

Oh my Lord...do you guys go on that site often

I doubt I'll be going near it again! Not just the bitchyness and meaness....are they all just a bit thick? They keep making the arguement that the powers that be want them to be in the final two? Why? Are they aware its the public that decide on the top four? And I can't believe they're taking such an issue with the dance change...surely its Georgias fans that should be most stressed about that? The last comment I read was suggesting Georgia is pretending to be sick (haven't quite worked out their marvelous logic as to how that is going to get her to the final) but it gives you an indication of what they're like.

I tell you what, if thats a sample of the public vote maybe its no bad thing that Georgia is poorly polling in it. Wouldn't want anyone as mean spirited as them in my corner.

So glad to be back in here

Too right! Didn't really realise this whole comments part of the blog existed until today - but it's safe to say I won't be going back to it again. How people can use the fact that someone is ill against them is beyond me.

I've left because every comment I read requires an answer pointing out how ridiculous, illogical and unecessarily bitchy they're being....I'd be there all night! I decided to make a sharp exit and be comforted by the fact that every Georgia fan on here is lovely (obviously we're not going to be nasty to Georgia in an appreciation thread but I mean I haven't seen us behaving the same way to other celebs the way they are with her)

Whats disturbing is the whole sheep mentality thing that seems to be going on as well...even though someone makes a point that makes no sense (eg fixing it for her to win?) - its repeated and repeated again as if theres truth to it and I guess plenty start to believe it. Another classic was that she was so ungracious to Helen after the dance off I mean, its really not worth trying to put in any effort to discuss things with people with that kind of mentality. Like I say, I really wouldn't be desperate to have those people on my side anyway. Just hope G & G put in a performance thats worthy of what they've produced so far so that they go out on a high....and they don't go near that blog or come across those people in real life

What??? Why waste the time creating something that's so patently untrue? It's just mean.

Thats why I left, one comment was getting more ridiculous and nasty than the next. Sad really. Sad for them.
And going by their reaction to the dance change, its going to make them even more unpopular (again not sure why they're up in arms about that one given the inconvenience is surely for G&G) but since it may lose them even more votes going by the outcry, the powers that be who were fixing the cha cha as a sure way to get Georgia to the final may well fail.

The BBC used to have a board (similar to this one) in the old days of SCD. IIRC, it was closed in 2009 when the programme started to become the monster it is today and beat XF on ratings. I used to post there and just so you imagine, the board was closed at night (they probably couldn't afford a 24hr moderator just for that board) such was the level of bitchiness, bile and venom. I used to keep myself in the appreciation threads of the couples I liked and never posted outside them, never.

Mind you, when those boards closed a lot of people migrated here (me included)

I remember that the fans gave themselves "names" for their support groups and such groups were always supporting the pros, never the celebs. You had Anton's Angels, Brendan's Babes, Darren's Darlings, Fortuna Fantastics (Brian Fortuna, remember him?).

Sorry, can't remember the rest of it.

I hardly look at the BBC comments because it's such an unnavigable site.

The rancour of some of the folk there though! Honestly it makes me laugh to read the bitterness they generate over a dance show! It's like a gurning competition for how mean-hearted you can be. Line up to stick your head through the loo seat and rant till your forehead aches...

It's much nicer here and -- one good thing about our Troubles -- I've loved having the Jay people pop in to bring us soup and choc and kind thoughts

I wouldn't worry too much about that online BBC blog, I am online a fair bit and until recently I didn't even know it was there. Also forums can often develop a hive mentality when it comes to things like this and often certain groups get to know where people that think like them are and collect in one area.

Also perhaps it's good to be talked about. The dearly departed Helen, and Kellie hardly get any chat positive or negative and Anita to be fair gets a fair amount of stick here on DS, so maybe it's better to be noticed.

I'm not worried, the vote can change from week to week and as Strictly only gives a half hour to vote anything can happen. If Georgia and Giovanni do their best dancing then that's all they can do and there will be little else to change hardcore fans perceptions now but great dancing could well pull in more casual voters.

I used to post on the BBC board and, like you, when that closed I moved here ..... we were called *Cutlerites* and my location is still *Bar Cutler* but I may change that to *Giovanni's Bar*

Dervla hi, was it you who said that there was an exploding poppy in one of Team GG's dances? I hadn't noticed that so, if it was you, can you tell me which dance so I can watch it again .... any excuse

I really thought there'd be an explanation about the change of dance for GG, but all Zoe said was *how exciting* looks like they'll be on the show on Friday so there might be some news then

have just changed my location

Its a cauldron of bile over there but if this is representative of the Great British Voting Public they're a miserable vitriolic lot and our GG could be in trouble before they set a foot on the dance floor. I could accept that the dance change is due to the 1 Latin / 1BR rule but surely the production team knew this well in advance and could have made the adjustment particularly before GG even mentioned doing the AT. It just feels odd that no-one has qualified the change - at least be transparent about it.

Anyway they're training - the VW will be smashing and she has a champion cha-cha teacher so not all doom. Plus our lovely friends from J+A are keen to keep them in too and might donate a vote here and there. If the worst happens and the DO beckons they will come through it again. Gio is nothing if not competitive and as I keep reminding myself he knows how to win these things - they will both be fired up for Saturday.

At least we might get to see some of Giovanni's sensational hip action in the CCC, more than we would have done in the AT. Looking at the positives here...

Yes, it's the samba! They get halfway down that first diagonal and Gio's poppy gets danced right off his shirt. I really love their samba. If if if they get to the final, it's the one I would love to see again, especially now Georgia's got so much better at spinning.

Giovanni's Bar is a great idea!! We've seen he can wait attentively in the samba

Popping over from the Jay thread to say I hope Georgia gets better soon. Do we know what is wrong, has she got a virus or has she damaged herself in some way which is why they have abandoned the AT? Good luck to them on Saturday. There was no way she should have been in the dance off last week, I reckon people thought she was safe and just didn't vote or tried a bit of tactical voting to try and get someone else out which Imo normally backfires

Thank you!

We have very little info other than this tweet from her earlier today - http://twitter.com/georgiafoote/stat...18744966799362

I am a Jay fan and also think Georgia is a lovely dancer and likeable lady….and I want to see her in the final. I hope being in the bottom two (unfairly IMO) will give her a bounce vote this weekend

This post really made me smile.

Mostly for 'Gios poppy gets danced right off his shirt'

Really? Haha I've watched that samba too many times and never noticed! With his shimmying speed right enough, I couldn't have seen anything staying on his shirt for too long Good excuse for me to go back and watch it again!

'We've seen he can wait attentively'

Oh yes, he'd make a lovely waiter. He'd make a lovely anything to be honest

thanks, have just been to have another look at that fantastic dance and I hadn't noticed that the poppy had fallen off, obviously concentrating too much on his hips and he can wait on me any time he likes

Jay fan here! i tweeted her earlier on, giving her all this advice on how to get rid of a cold and then realised I didn't actually know what is wrong. so if it's anything but a cold she probably thinks I'm barmy.

We Jay fans are getting regulars in here aren't we?
I just popped in to see what the latest news on them is. Glad they're able to train, she's a lot tougher than she looks that little cookie! Good on her!
Sprinkling a dusting of positive vibes on my way out ..................
