I can't find the post now but someone did a breakdown on Sucks a few years ago. They get more of a stipend in the jury house per week. It's income taxed versus prize tax, I believe.

Comes out more favourable for a juror.

On tv in the CBS studio they don't get the same stipend, it's much less per week.

And that wraps it up for another year, and not a moment too soon

All we need now is James to win CBB later on and that will complete the s**t winners list for this year

The winner and second do not get the stipend. AFP gets stipend and $25,000 plus he won money in competitions, I think.

How is that allowed with SAG rules and the like, these people are on TV they require a fee no? They should not be doing it for free.

Plus the 50k runner up prize is more heavily taxed.

This could all be outdated info by now, except for the taxes. Those are eternal.

They're on reality television. In the US reality is decidedly non-union, so SAG benefits and rules don't apply to the cast or crew.

They do get paid, it's just a lesser fee for on-air.

James won America's Favourite over John. Ha, ha!!! That floored me!

Exactly.

- Twin twist blown up day 20, the biggest target in the game right there and then. Does nobody remember them all doing that 'broadcast' show and acting like a pack of wolves to catch Julia out? Managed to avoid nomination until week five, where she won BOTB all by herself
- Both Liz and Julia then go 85 days together without being a target

Steve may say she wasn't there for three weeks, but they had the extra pressure of not being able to fly under the radar due to the twist and also missed chunks of game play.
He also said she had Julia, someone to trust no matter what, unlike the rest... well, that also makes them a massive target, Steve... not their fault nobody broke them up, in fact, that proves just how strongly they were playing.

Personally, I would've voted for Liz... and I have the feeds.
The only criticism I have is she should've fought harder tonight, there was so much she could've said, but her speeches have always been terrible, she's always hated them and freaked out on live feed about them.
I don't think they mean much anyway, I believe their minds are all made up going into the finale.

Also, regarding Vanessa, she was so loyal to the twins. Always has been ever since Julia revealed the truth, voting for a friend isn't bitter. James wouldn't be considered bitter for voting for Meg, friends never are, no different with Vanessa and Liz.

That must have been on the old rate of $750 pw, now it is $1,000 pw. The prize tax is high, about 50%, maybe income tax depends on your home state.

Vanessa looked pissed when he made that bitchy comment about Liz not playing the whole game, plus it was more difficult switching in and out no knowing what Julia had said.

It definitely does, but I'm not sure if California is counted as a residence during their time on the show.

Liz & Julia are Floridians, aren't they? If they're taxed as such it would help Liz.

I've made way too many posts about finances and numbers. Let me assure you that I can barely count past potato.

I think Liz spent the entire game playing for Austin and Vanessa. Steve spent the entire game pretending to play for Vanessa and Austin and cut Vanessa in the end. Something Liz was not going to do, even though she believed she would lose to her.

Steve>>>>>Liz.

Yeah. Liz/Julia played hard in the beginning, because they had to.
Once they had SS and F&G with them, and they were winning, they relaxed.

Steve wasn't anywhere to be seen, and him saying getting the twins split up (at final six when there was no other move) and Vanessa out (at final three... when there was no other move) just proves what a weak game he played.

BB Winner criteria

1 - Male
2 - Socially awkward
3 - Float for the first three quarters

As brought to you by Andy/Ian/Steve.

For female winners it seems there needs to be rigging, Maggie was the last female winner without any producer help.

There were weeks were Steve didn't even get a DR session in the first half of the series, thats how irrelevant he was to the house.

We're going to be seeing a lot more of this particular type, and Alison Grodner does love her BB archtypes. Look at the failed Hayden we had in Jace for instance.

I do think Steve was the more deserving winner of the two though.

Agreed! Really annoys me when he says they were 'big moves', no they were your ONLY moves

I rank him above Andy but might put Ian ahead of him, I'd have to have a look over BB14 again.

Had Vanessa won that final HoH, Steve wouldn't have won. So, he did play for Vanessa just as much. He left it far too late to get rid of her but luck was on his side and he managed to fluke it. He did not set himself up to be in that position.

Andy wasn't socially awkward.

Steve would have sauntered off with John, Shelli and Becky, if James hadn't been more frit of Shelli, than Vanessa. If, if, if. The fact is he did cut Vanessa, not "too late", but just in time to win. He won the comp fair and square. Vanessa lost the comp, fair and square.......still believing Steve would take her LOL

And Maggie was in a female top four, so a female had to win...

The female stats are really, really poor. Another reason why Vanessa needed to win and prove a point.
BBCAN is much better with their females, but then with Canada influencing the game so much, that helped them, so not a great example...
