Stop Criticising Corrie Live Episode - It Was Excellent!!
Wow, I can't believe the cheap remarks thrown at the live Corrie episode.
![]() Bad acting. Lousy script. So many faults. Callum was breathing. * Okay, let's take the first point. Yeah Callum was breathing because the actor was alive. Dullards. He was playing dead, and I'm sorry but he couldn't hold his breath for 45 minutes. Now we come to the 'bad acting' allegation. No, there was no bad acting. All the cast did brilliantly. The actors who play Sarah, Roy, David, Kylie, all excelled. Even Carla surprised me. And I never thought I'd say it but Anna was convincing as a drunk. ![]() I'm also fed up of the criticism levelled at William Roache. How was he acting badly?? He was just saying his lines in a calm way, the manner which the scene required. * I even heard LBC Radio's Steve Allen say this morning, 'so we can all safely say last's night's Corrie episode was terrible'. He then confirmed he hadn't watched it. I mean, talk about stupid.. Beforehand, I was very sceptical that the live show would work. But it was a massive success in my eyes. It was complex in the way the actors had to move around and the different cameras and scenes. It was 11/10 brilliant. Much, much better than the two-hander February EE live episode. To all involved in Corrie, WELL DONE! ![]()

I completely agree with everything you say. It was superb. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. After the first five minutes i was so engrossed I had to remind myself it was live. well done to them all

I thought it was superbly done, well acted throughout and I thought the production team did a fantastic job.
I'm not one for comparing other soaps but obviously when its a live episode comparisons will always be made unfortunately. IMO I think the fact Corrie used a much bigger cast than EE and had far more diverse storylines going on that it has to be considered a better achievement. |

Sorry, but for me it was half and half - I fully agree that the good parts were excellent, the bad parts weren't! You can't demand people to stop criticising if they find something at fault!

You shouldn't be on the internet if you can't stand negative remarks. Not everyone likes the same things you do and they are allowed to express their views, even if this annoys you.

It was brilliant, perfectly acted, great script, had me squealing and screaming at the screen, enjoyed every single second, Corrie always does live perfectly, followed closely by Emmer.
Just ignore the silly moans and groans, it was 1 hour of great telly. |

Not for me, it lacked pace and drama. I got bored im afraid. Could have easily just been a normal episode for all the drama it gave. Callum died way too early on in the ep.

It was good but overall last night Emmerdales 2 parter was superior both in storyline and acting.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Tina O'Brien who I don't usually rate very much. I thought she was excellent last night. And the actor that plays Roy was superb too. They were the two stand outs for me.

I thought the acting was amazing and overall enjoyed the episode immensely. I just thought the callum plot was a little predictable but that doesn't detract from how good the cast were

The EE one was forced...the Corrie on felt so natural. I forgot it was live. VERY WELL DONE, GUYS AND GALS. ps Both did well really as live TV is fraught with opportunities to slip up. |

I loved it.
I thought is was very well done and all the actors did an amazing job. Even had a few LOL moments thrown in ('I'm telling her its David ..."). I thought the fact it was live added to the tension of who killed Callum. Big round of applause to everyone involved. |

What the live episode proved last night was that the Corrie magic is still there waiting to be tapped into. The episode had drama, comedy and romance and combined all in a compelling way. For those that were bored by Roy and Cathy and by the Rovers party I would say that it's plots and scenes like those that form the backbone of the show. High drama cannot possibly sustain a show like Corrie and eventually it becomes silly, contrived bluster. More importantly Tina O'Brien showed her talent and laid bare how badly served she has been since her return. Many's the poster here has called for her to be axed and dismissed her ability (with cause since her return). O'Brien has proved why she was great first time round and why she still is. Like a beacon amidst all the bad press last night showed us that the show can be salvaged and as ITV have finally stopped neglecting their golden goose the show should rebound. An investment in talent behind the scenes should pay of in dividends. They were the best of times, they were the worst of times... |
