If Austin wins I shudder to think what the next cbb will be like

It will clearly justify the overload of over the top loudmouth Americans .

It would also justify the direction of the show c5 want is what the voters want as well.

I would fully expect British housemates to be in the minority in the next series if Austin wins

I still feel it's unlikely he will win but I would not completely rule it out

I think the overload of 'over the top loudmouth Americans', as you put it, has happened before, it didn't start with Austin. Have you forgotten Perez, Gary Busey, Cami Lee and so on? Even on C4 there were Americans invited onto the show.

I really don't think you can blame Austin for who BB invites onto the show

ETA: I'm a Celebrity has been inviting Americans onto their show for years too. I'm not complaining, I like the mixture. The mistake this year, for me, was making it about nations and the rivalry between the two, when BB should be about individuals, no matter where they are from.

I agree they started overloading in the last series previous it was a token American.

The Perez one didn't Emma Willis try to justify by saying that cbb wasn't just for uk people

I don't know if she was trying to justify it, I didn't realise some people were so anti-American and wanted it just to be UK housemates. I like having a mix, although it depends upon who they are and obviously we never know how housemates will interact with each other, no matter where they are from.

I mean, I'd rather have Jenna or Austin in a house than Katie Hopkins any day, but we are all different

Could it possibly be worse than this one?

I doubt after all that has happened this series, that they will be able to tempt any American celebs to take part, unless they are really desperate for the money and get offered a really big fee.

Hopefully it will be an all British one next time round.

They will always have loud Americans. Whether he wins or doesn't, won't make a difference I don't think.

I mean Helen winning BB15, didn't make much of a difference to BB16, OK, if we ignore her and the fact she was in BB16 too, the HMs were generally a nicer bunch I'd say than the lot of BB15.

I welcome a direction that involves more clear direct honest communication, but just wish there had been more time in this CBB to experience that, while at the same time actually for the first time looking forward to the 'pause/resume' that heralds the continuance of the journey, through the next CBB. I feel there's quite a clear difference between Perez/Hopkins and this CBB's group of people, and that difference makes me feel bright about the next CBB too.

Watching the live feed last night, they clearly all like each other, a great, and interesting, group of people; it doesn't matter where they're from actually. I think Austin has been brilliant, in going on a very clear self-responsible journey ... yes, he messed up sometimes, but he is solid as a rock about being honest, apologising if necessary, genuine resolution for himself and whoever he is dialoguing with, and really showing who he is. That he is a young, cool, handsome guy adds all the more to what I feel is a great message. I find the honesty really refreshing, and incredible tv that, despite C5, has turned out to actually be a step forward from previous CBB's, lol.

If more Americans mean less scavenging the depths of TOWIE, Page 3 and The Big Reunion, then I'm all for it.

No more Americans please. British micro-celebrities only.

Nice post, I agree for the most part.

For me the saving grace this year has been the hour of live feed on week nights. It's given a much different view of the dynamics of the house, the little things, interactions between housemates who we only see one side of in the highlight show - Jenna chatting about boxing/fighting with Gail, Farrah and James having a laugh, Sherrie having fun with the lads, that sort of thing.

Thank you very much, and, yes, the live feed has been really fun, enjoyable to watch. BB would do well to add a lot more of that to the next series, for sure.

Busey winning and The Perez Show are responsible for this year's failed gimmick.

Its failure should ensure a change of direction if the show returns in January.
