It was a good episode. The death was predictable, but on the whole it was a good episode. Obviously nowhere near as good as the 50th or EastEnders LIVE episodes, but for the current state of the show it was executed to a good level...

However, I think all soaps should now stop with the live episodes. If Emmerdale was next to go LIVE then it's not going to really feel like a rare thing. What other special types of episodes could the soaps tackle? Also, I remember years ago Hollyoaks filmed a flash-forward episode. I didn't watch it, but how did it work?

One Life to Live had a trading places episode where one of the characters had a dream that all of the characters had lost their minds and thought they were a different character. It was very funny and that episode won them best show at the Emmys that year. I could see Corrie doing something like that, David and Nick could swap places, Liz and Steve, and Jason and Todd just to name a few.
