Yes... Strictly can become a major part of your life in the next 3 months... I normally lose a bit of interest in the middle though and the last 2 years I've missed at least 1 episode of the main show

I'm so happy as well, just said in another post my post count will get ridiculous as I'm a strictly fan and tonight will be here with my wine and my chinese going "oh that was good" "oh that was awful" and mainly "ooh that dress!"

Me too! Can't believe that, apart from Sunday, there will be no more Strictly-less nights in my house until the weekend before Christmas....

Yeah so glad Strictly is back

and here's a lovely twitter message from Georgia May Foote:

Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence, and face your future without fear.

what do you think?

Yes, I'm happy too. I have such a weird love/hate feeling with Strictly. I used to mute Brucie (I much prefer it now); still mute two of the judges; almost always disagree with the results; and there's always one or two celebs I can't stand (I'm trying not to prejudge who that's going to be, though I have my suspicions). And yet I get so excited - just occasionally when someone really surprises you and just shines with how much they are enjoying dancing it is SUCH brilliant televisions. And the pros are all amazing.

I can safety say that over 10 million viewers in the BARB ratings would agree to this thread, 10,700 posts soon for me on Digital Spy soon which could be possible if I post on here live tonight.

me too, when ever she was on Big Brother Bit on the Side, she was very opinionated & judgemental.

I am also looking forward to tonight after a dismal Big Brother summer, it be nice to sit back and relax while watching real entertainment

I'm looking forward to Strictly starting this evening. It'll be the only day that i'll be able to watch it live though as I work until 8pm on saturdays and I'm back in again on sunday. Unless I have overtime on monday, that's when I'll be catching up with the weekends TV.

i'm hoping for far less stage show type dance routines and more traditional ballroom & latin. I'm not a fan of the changes.

Yes, I didn't like her on the Bear survival thing either. She was incredibly arrogant and had a huge chip on her shoulder, completely bitchy to everyone but burst into tears when one of the men snapped back at her. I won't be voting or rooting for her.

Me too! It's starting to go in the same direction as DWTS...everything has to be either a freestyle or a contemporary routine.

Anyone who's seen the last few seasons of DWTS would know that Strictly is nothing like it, and thankfully so. Ballroom is practically unheard of over there nowadays, they've replaced their orchestra with a cover band who only get to play occasionally (they use recorded music most of the time) and you're lucky if the dances reach one minute in length. Be fortunate that Strictly's as it is, while it is.

True! I am very grateful Strictly hasn't lost the essence of the show, unlike DWTS.

I'm just saying there have been more routines creeping in during the more recent seasons that are quite removed from the traditional dances. Apart from that, I can't complain too much!

I, too, am so glad the waiting is over, seemed to drag between the launch show and tonight. Got my onesie on, all prepared, with wine chilling nicely!

Please don't say that Cheryl, it might encourage people to start talking about Christmas.
