Not bothered about the first point. She could miss Darcy out every week and it wouldn't bother me. Come to that, she could have a total memory lapse and miss out the entire panel and I'd be perfectly happy.
Second does annoy me. If a male presenter behaved even slightly lecherously it would be considered unnacceptable. "You are lucky to be dancing with such an exciting, talented dancer", would be a more suitable compliment. |

I think you're just going to have to pull your socks up and try harder to get with the programme.

I think she is terrible, and getting worse. She really should be replaced, she is not up to the job.

Tess by and large does a perfectly good job of presenting. Claudia on the other hand.....
The only things that Tess gets wrong are the lines. She spent enough years on the show to know it is a 'wonderful wonderful' orchestra not a 'brilliant' orchestra and that the celebs are the 'stars of our show' not 'strictly stars'. |

Tess spoils it for me every year, she's a terrible presenter. Has anyone ever wondered why apart from Strictly she does absolutely nothing else.. Because TV bosses know she's rubbish that's why.
When Craig was giving Kirsty constructive criticism she said to her the usual "just ignore him".. No don't ignore him Kirsty, he's trying to help you. |

Tess is not as bad as everyone is making out. Granted, she is not nearly as quick-witted and spontaneous as Claudia but is pretty and adequate enough. I think she gets a lot of unfair stick on here like blaming her for "brilliant orchestra" or "Strictly stars" (which BOTH her & Claudia say but no-one mentions Claudia). It is clear that the previous phrases are considered "Bruce-isms" and that the script has been changed to reflect that. Fact of the matter is, she nabbed what has become one of the best jobs in television so the jealousy word plays a big part here. As for Tess, she has not only become synonymous with the show she's also no fool and will not be going anywhere just yet....unless she takes her Gleb-perving that one step too far...! |

No, I haven't wondered actually...particularly as she does the mega-fundraiser that is Children in Need every year...

I think the fact that Claudia is naturally witty and can think on her feet shows Tess up even more. They obviously have to write every little thing down for her and it simply doesn't work when she has no comic timing. The talking over the judges drives me mad as well. Still we are stuck with her so thank goodness for the mute button!

I'm sure Tess is a lovely person but I do find her annoying. She often puts her foot in her mouth and it's cringeworthy.

I wish she'd stop going on about Jay being nervous, she does it so much it comes across as patronising. I would love him to just glare at her in a way to shut her up but he seems too nice to do that

Agree....i dont think Tess would cope if the autocue went. Claudia is a far better presenter, if a little wacky.

I don't find her to be a problem whatsoever and frankly wonder what you lot are always moaning about, she seems fine.

Can't see what all the hate is about? She does her job very well and one mistake can surely be put down to first-night nerves? She works well with Claudia, doesn't patronise the celebs ( yes Bruce, I'm looking at you! ) and, now she's made up with wardrobe, looks great

Wow. Took exactly one show before the 'get rid of Tess' threads started.
Beats me why everyone cares so damn much. It's a soddin mindless entertainment show on a Saturday night (or Friday the first week). It's really not worth all the complaining. This is one of the reasons I don't frequent these boards as often any more. All the 'complain, complain, complain, moan, moan, moan' threads are so tiresome and exhausting. It takes all the joy out of watching TV shows when you are aware of this kind of thing going on. I'm afraid its a recurring theme on the digital spy forums. |

It doesn't help that she's female and attractive, if she looked like Michelle McManus, I doubt she'd get the same level of hate.
I'm afraid its a recurring theme on the digital spy forums. Just people pointing out she isn't very good. |

Overall I don't think Tess is a bad presenter. I get the impression that she sometimes doesn't think before she speaks and I can't stand her penchant for cod northerness (when she lays it on with a trowel with fellow northerners) but I suspect this more of a BBC thing a la it's grim up north but colluding with it isn't a good idea. She certainly doesn't attempt to make the show all about her in the way Forsyth did. An adequate presenter which is what Strictly needs - it needs a diva presenter like it needs a hole in the head

She presents the show perfectly well, she just needs a better sidekick. |
