I wasn't expecting much, so her dancing didn't disappoint me.
But what have they done to the Carol we know and love from breakfast tv ? I thought the makeover was terrible. The hair, the dress and her constant gurning to the camera.
As a bloke I'm no expert on these things. But what do the ladies here think ?
To me she always looked more attractive doing the weather, the main reason Carol has become so popular is because she always looks so natural.
It was like watching your favourite Auntie, who you might have fancied a bit, arriving at a wedding but looking completely OTT.

It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, to be honest. She did mess up a few times, but I thought she did a great job working her hips, and she just looked like she was having a lot of fun.

I really like Carol as a weather presenter. But sorry, she is not going anywhere on SCD. Shame, but there it is.

.... But EVERYONE is made-over for Strictly. I thought she looked really nice last night. Her dress was beautiful and I also liked her hair although it is very different to her usual styles.

As far as "gurning to the camera" is concerned, she is always smiling and laughing so I didn't see anything different at all. Sorry - not trying to be contentious but I'm just a wee bit puzzled by your observations.

One of the reasons I like Carol is because she is always smiling and laughing, she is a pleasure to see on my TV in the morning.

Shall we wait until we've seen everyone dance before we crown Carol the duffer? I agree, it wasn't great last night, but bless her, this is well out of comfort zone.

I quite agree Lordsally, I get the impression that Carol has great integrity, I can't for a moment ever imagine her acting out a flounce and then end up not leaving.

Sorry, I like Carol, and have done for years. I suppose that's the reason I didn't like the way they'd changed her for Strictly. Perhaps I was being unrealistic, as you say everyone gets a makeover for the show. I know she's always smiling and laughing, but it just didn't appear so genuine as usual last night. But again, that's all part of the show, so I'm probably being unfair.
Really didn't like the hair though.

I see they'd changed the style for her this evening.

Aww she looked gorgeous . She just let her nerves get the better of her , but fair play to the lady for smiling on through .
She is def in trouble though .
