Which shoulder is it (left shoulder would cause more problems)?

I guess he won't be doing any leading.

It is going to be difficult to keep his hand in place and adjust without straining his shoulder or losing his posture. It means his brain is going to have to concentrate on that while doing the dance.
Oti probably will not be able to lean on his arm or try to help him make corrections.

and the male must lead the dance.

it's a disaster waiting to happen, it's a shame, because he got potential.

Might take back what I said about seriousness of right shoulder injury against left. If his injury is SO bad that he can't lift his right arm enough to put his hand beneath her shoulder blade then that is a big problem. It will look weird. You could dance without the left arm raised, sort of American Smooth style.

He shouldn't need to take any weight from Oti on most steps, but some steps may put stress on the shoulder as a result of torque.

He shouldn't need to lead. Oti knows the routine. So they can work round that. Some lead is done through the right hand pressure on the shoulder blade but a lot is through body.

i think Oti is a good teacher, my favourite professional after Giovanni.

I don't understand why Anthony was deemed physically able to take part in Strictly. Surely all the celebs undergo a physical? His injury would have ruled him out, I would have thought. It's a shame because I think he has great potential.

i have the same thoughts about Anthony, i would've rather seen him next year, or if he's 100% recovered with his shoulder.

Well, we're guessing about the state of his shoulder, aren't we? I've dislocated both of mine more than once and the recovery time was different each time. A couple of times I was right as rain within a week or so, but once it took about a year to fully heal and for several months I had a very minimal range of movement. It seems they had difficulty signing up male celebs this year (according to James Jordan) and they may just have had to accept he would be restricted (same as they seem to be accepting that Iwan clearly isn't able to commit the time needed).

I have had a few injuries including breaking my arm at the age of 9 that excluded me from participating in P.E at school for at least 6 weeks and on another occassion spriaining my hand that only took up to around 3 weeks so I only had to claim ESA for a short while.

Anthony had dislocated his shoulder and had treatment on it in the past, then in his fight with Schlev in July, he dislocated it again in the 2nd round, had it pushed back into place, dislocated it again in the 3rd round, had it pushed back into place again and finished the 6 round fight fighting with one hand - and won.

Its likely that a lot of damage was done to the joint, so I'll be surprised if it heals quickly.

The main thing is that he doesn't damage it on Strictly, so he will have to be very careful and controlled.
Tough task for Oti on her first series.

Its a pity, as they make a great pairing and would do well if he was fit.

It's enough to test the strongest of faiths, isn't it?

Also, I'm torn about Anita & Gleb; I immediately identified Charleston as the dance I most wanted to see them do after their Cha-Cha-Cha, but two Latins is giving me a twitch.

(seven re-used songs there by my count, possibly eight depending on the version of Valerie used)

It's a total of seven different dance styles, the same as week 2 in 2013 and 2014, and compared to those years the only curveball is the inclusion of Quickstep so it's not as odd a mix as it seems at first glance.

Just a thought - if we're going to have all the dances and songs confirmed for us so early in the week this year, is there really much point to this thread as there's a separate one created when the songs/dances come out?
