BT retentions deals
I'm coming up to the last 2 months of my bt broadband contract. I currently pay £31.99 and wondered if BT do deals like sky when phoning to cancel?if so what deals did you get offered?
I have 38mb infinity and bt sport Europe. |

i was out of contract earlier thisd month and wanted to upgrade to infinity - asked what the best deal was and told on phone the best was £48.99 which is £7 a month more than im paying now
Also got a letter today from BT Sport telling me that if i dont let them know by last Saturday ill be charged an extra £6.96 a month for BT Sport unless i start a new 12 month contract with them So am moving to SSE Broadband who have a six month offer of FREE line rental and fibre broadband and then will cost £33 a month - 18 month contract only downside |

My conct is up with BT in the end of January - going to phone them and see what they offer me.
Was thinking of going to Sky for my phone and broadband - but I am happy with BT, their customer service has been good and happy with their service Thinking of adding BT TV to save on the BT Sport option I am currently paying for on Sky |

I'm going to phone up BT after Christmas to see what they will offer me as most of my BT contracts come to an end in February.

Judging by their price increases, now is a very good time to quit BT, but who offers the best deal for my father, who only needs a landline? The Co-Op does one (in theory), but I'm finding it impossible to get through to the details of that particular package without being diverted to one showing what looks like a mobile phone and broadband.

I have 38mb infinity and bt sport Europe. It's worth shopping around though, Post Office and Co-op were both slightly cheaper. I'm on SSE, got 2 years free ADSL and weekend calls for £12.95 a month. That deal has now finished, though. It's also worth going through Quidco to search for deals. I got £80 cashback from my last BT contract. |

I did VERY well by moving to PlusNet (unlimited + 6 months free fibre + Topcashback). It would be hard for any ISP (especially BT who don't often offer much!!) to match.

Is there any way of checking online with bt for when your contracts run out? I have had a look but cant find anything, I am sure there used to be.
Phone line - just got a email to renew my saver line rental. Broadband - pretty sure this one is out of contract last year. Bt tv - don't have a clue on this one. Bt mobile - think I am just short of half way. |

I'm also out of contact in February for Infinity 2 plus evening and weekend calls and will be phoning BT in the next 2 weeks to see what deals they will offer me if I renew all my contracts.
My BT TV contract is up in mid March but I would like all my contracts to have the same end date. I'm still using the Home Hub 3. Darren |

So I made contact with BT over a renewal deal. First went with the online chat on the bt site, but the guy passed me onto another deptarment. He phoned me and transferred me over. 08003289393.
Phoneline was out of contract on feb 26th. Broadband and tv were already out of contract. Here is my 12 month deal - Line saver - £194. inifinity 2 and weekends calls - £22.85 was going to be £30. Tv Entertainment was upgraded to plus £8.50 was going to be £10 HD free for 3 months, then £4 per month Free BT ID and Privacy for next 12 months. (think you get that with line saver anyway) Free Tv anywhere (tv on pc) for 12 months. So quite happy with that. I just asked about any renewal deals and she rolled over Rough savings for the year -Phone £21.58 Broadband £84 TV £18 HD £12 Id & Privacy £21 Not sure that's a saving, free with line saver. Tv anywhere - Going by web page it is free with tv pack. |

Rough savings for the year -The "new customer" deals on BT also seem to beat retentions most of the time....so I might be back. |

All I watch is bt sports, with f1, bbc news and match of the day added on. Game of thrones is the only tv show I watch, I might take out now tv this year
![]() But yeah they should give out set discounts for loyal customers, to stop them switching. |

l took out a 18 month unlimited broadband contract with BT back in November 2013. Having forgotten about it, it ran out in due course. I renewed my line saver rental in November then a few weeks later renewed my mum's LSR and the BT rep offered her cheaper broadband so l accepted on her behalf. I was left wondering why l didn't receive the same offer.
I phoned BT this morning in relation to my latest bill. Before l could explain myself, the rep told me my broadband contract us coming to an end and offered me a cheaper deal (£5 less a month) with half-price BT Sport for 12 months! I took up the deal but l can't understand how my contract was finishing when it should had ended in May 2015? What happened to my 'contract' between May 2015 and now as l didn't receive either a letter or e-mail from BT informing me that my contract was coming to an end. Please could anyone explain why this happened? |

These contracts don't just END after their time period - which is a minimum-term and not a fixed period! They continue until such time as the customer cancels them - at whatever standard notice period then applies.

BT used to automatically renew you for another 12 month minimum term commitment if you didn't cancel. I'm not sure if that's still the case.

I phoned up BT earlier this evening as most of my contacts come to an end on 1st Feb and was offered to stay on Infinity 2 unlimited with free evening and weekend calls for £22.50 a month and to stay on the TV package im on BT TV Entertanment Max for £12.50 a month. Plus they also offered to renew the free BT privacy at home with called display for another 12 months.
I still have the line rental and the 1571 answer service on top of this. When you on phone if you dont have BT Mobile they will try and sell you that. I just said I will think about it when they offered me BT Mobile and they left it at that. Darren |
