Don't be daft. I've never seen a masculine looking cha-cha from a professional male dancer. It's meant to be 'mincey and camp' ( not words I'd use but I know what you mean )
That's the problem with 99% of the male celebs doing the cha-cha, Peter Andre included.
I don't get how you saw it as unmasculine. It was far too macho and aggressive for a cha-cha i.m.o.
Jay's, on the other hand, was a proper Cha-Cha with good leg pushthrough and hip movement, and was undermarked.

Considering Chelsee finished second, was an excellent dancer and endearing herself to many, I think Georgina would be very grateful for the comparison.

I think if a celeb comes out and sells a routine well, the judges fudge criticism on whether it was actually danced well. We saw it frequently last year with Jake too, and others including Lisa Riley over the years. I think they think if it's sold well, gets cheers from the audience, that criticism such as "sold well but technically awful" won't be taken seriously.

I think the only thing he lacks right now is confidence. That is how you 'sell' a dance. You perform with every sense you have - and just dance.

He is quite capable of doing that: he just needed to be sure that he had what it takes for this kind of performance, knowing it was not the same as being in a band, and was not convinced he could do it on his own. He got the praise he needed last night.

His posture and musicality are great. He can move really well and he is very cute. He is also far more likeable than any of the other males in this year's competition and I do believe his star is about to rise !

Chelsee was adorable, hard working, down to earth and a great little dancer.

Georgia has weak legs, no balance and is a messy dancer. But she is very pretty and has a lot to learn. She does have time to learn.

I am sure she'll have fans galore, despite her irritation factor.

Oh poor love! I do hope that's the case. They are cringingly awful and so staged! I think Aliona will actually work hard this year because she's thrilled with who she's got. She can be a lazy mare when she's not happy.

What's not to like about Jay = happy Aliona (phew!) I was surprised though because on his training video he looked like a startled elk.

Its not always just confidence though, I have seen a lot of dancers who are confident but just never really bring it to their face.
But I think he can do it and I really hope so.

I said earlier he has the potential to be the best male dancer that has been on the show technically, he has so much potential in his fet and legs and even things like his weight distribution and his way of partnering. He has it all there for him, just needs to show the audience and judges he believes he does.

Potentially he could win, the audiences love a shy guy who is bought out of his shell, like you said he is cute too.

Georgia hasn't got weak legs, or she isn't a messy dancer. but she must learn, and she can learn a lot.

Let's face it, Len in is now well into his 'painting by numbers era'. He is on autopilot and has a very limited vocab.

He was never an amazing dancer himself - just a hoofer who went on to teach. He still doesn't know what real salsa looks like and thinks Argentine Tango is all about sweaty gauchos (friggin'miles away from Buenos Aires) and hookers. He has no idea it started in Uruguay and actually no one is angry when they dance it. I sure as hell am not. Ask what him candombe is. Nah. Not a chance.

I fast forward him now. No point in expecting anything logical, fair or rational from him these days. He's bored witless and should be off fly fishing or perhaps 'put out to pasture'.

I've taught a few dancers who could not emote and it took me a while to get through their reserve. Some will never work it out and their performance is less moving as a result. Some people are great in a chorus, but can never have what it takes to be a soloist.

Having it all is rare. Seeing someone develop and shine is just brilliant!

I think the music contributed to the type of CCC that they had to do. I wouldn’t have wanted to Cha to that music, it wasn’t “traditional” Cha music but he executed it well.

Still didn’t beat Jason Donovan’s CCC which also closed the show in Series 9, Jason got 32 for his and I believe it was the highest CCC of the series which is interesting!

Well, in fairness to him, neither salsa or argentine tango are among the traditional ballroom and latin 10 dances and nor were they part of strictly when Len was hired. Personally, I would prefer that the remained not part of strictly. Most of the pro's have about as much experience of salsa as Len so strictly salsa's always end up being a mish mash of the other dances. Similarly most of the pro's have about as much experience of argentine tango as Len so, with one or two notable exceptions, it is rarely done to a half decent standard.

I'm no dance expert so can't say either way that it was total cha cha or not . Looked just fine to me and similar to other chas in the past .
However ,if it is not then that is hardly the celeb's fault when the celeb doesn't concoct the routine . It's up to the pro to do that so it's unfair to blame Peter if it wasn't totally cha cha . He did as he was taught by the pro , and did it well , so he deserved the praise he got for his performance .
