They're on their feet
Can someone please tell Tess to try and think of some other way of greeting the couples than pointing out the flippin obvious EVERY time it happens. Say what you like about Bruce but he could ad lib. Tess has only 3 different statements that she uses over and over again

Well if she would just say this once in a while it would be something. She can't think on her feet.

Surely everyone knows by now that a random selection of the audience seats are fitted with an electric shock device?

It isn't the way Tess/Bruce says/said it that bugs me, it's the complete overdone-ness of the standing ovations... It's only week one, you're going to peak too soon!

I thought you shouldn't state the obvious in television .
Maybe the couples can't see the audience

As a two-time audience member I can confirm that we don't want to jump up after each dance. It spoils our view in many cases. But the floor managers make us.

Have to agree about Tess though. She seems to have just a few phrases and can't think of anything else. Unlike Claudia who comes out with the most ridiculous, but funny, stuff but you just know it is ad libbed. Really think Tess needs replacing, who is more up to the job. |

It could be worse. On Dancing With the Stars, they make the audience stand up throughout the whole dance (which isn't quite as bad as it seems when you realise that their routines tend to last for a minute maximum)

unnecessary . Don't those idiotic producers realise they're only making the show much more annoying . The audience are not fools and know a good dance from a mediocre one and will show their appreciation accordingly if left alone . |

They must have insisted the audience over-react to Peter's dance at the end. I call foul!! But I need to learn to let it go or I'd wear myself out raging. I can't believe how fake these damned shows are

I think that's a point it's sometimes easy to overlook. The audience is actually part of the show, and has to follow directions the same way as everyone else. Refuse, and you can be asked to leave.
Really? Has that actually happened? " 'Ere, out you go, we're not 'avin that disgusting sitting down behaviour in 'ere" Bizarre.... |

Dermot O'Leary to replace Tess? He's already a BBC employee with his Radio 2 show and a new game show about The Stig as well. He's also got many years' experience in Saturday night entertainment.

I wish Tess would actually say this: "Look, they're on their feet...not because of your dancing because, quite frankly, it was shit...but because the floor manager MADE them stand up!!!"
