CS - How long until Callum is discovered and how?
Not seen a thread to discuss this.
How long do you think it will be before Callum's body is discovered, weeks, months, years, never? If he is discovered who and how do you think he will be revealed? We had the body under the factory floor a few years back discovered after it started decomposing and they dug the floor up thinking it was a drainage problem. Will Gail smell a rotting Callum and have the floor dug up to investigate? I think rather than the secret coming out in the next few weeks or months as these things do in soap, I would like to see it remain a secret for years until the Platts have moved on maybe and for a new family to make the discovery. What would other people like to see? |

Friday 25th December 2015 would seem like a decent bet.

I also think they should leave it now until a new family moves on. So long as the don't keep banging on about it.

If they had any sense (but they haven't because this is soapland) the Platts would tell Tony, knowing how much he hated Callum for what he did for Jason and that he has some dodgy mates. I'm sue Tony would happily use his van to take the body somewhere remote and dispose of it completely.
Now I'm showing my criminal side.

I think Les Dennis will find out first. He will want to go to the police but David will stop him. They will take a vote on wither or not to involve the police and the result of the vote will be

The policeman saw the drain so I'm guessing that will be significant later

Would you even notice a smell from under a solid concrete floor? Obviously if the manhole hadn't been covered then it would have been discovered in weeks. I really hope this doesn't get found out too quickly. Seeing as they've seemingly taken a few tips from Brookside, I'd like to see it left there for a long time. Trevor Jordache was under that patio for 2 years. They made a point of mentioning the drain wasn't in use and was an old one from the factory, so this could give them the license to leave it there for a long time.

Theoretically, they can leave Callum down there as long as they want to - it's a soap opera.
Fred and Rose West murdered girls and buried them under their house/garden without anyone finding out. There was no reported smell or anything- their next door neighbour on Cromwell St was a Church. The Wests were discovered when their children were taken into care and the authorities found out that Fred used to threaten to bury the kids under the patio like Heather (their missing older sister - who was buried under the patio!). Some of the bodies had been there for about 20 years. Dennis Nilsen was a serial killer in London who strangled his victims then dissected them. He flushed small bones and the flesh down the toilet. He was caught when the foul water drain (the sewer) backed up and Dyno-Rod found the remains. Nilsen had been in the property about a year. From this we can take that the writers can, realistically, leave things for as long as they need to. I'd assume that the discovery will happen when one of the Platts leaves - especially if it's Sarah, David or Kylie - as they will be blamed for the murder. |

Apart from when, some bookmaker needs to offer odds on how many false reveals we have before then. We had at least four in the episode following the killing. How many more can Blackburn squeeze in?
And, as someone has mentioned, perhaps Des Lennis will be one of the first to find out and agonise about telling the police. Imagine how many times Blackburn can treat us to a scene of him saying something like 'But a man's died, Gail....' |
