I had to switch off the news last evening it was all about floods.

Floods are a result of a bit of bad weather I'm not sure it should be news.

It is not unusual for people in jobs where they can retire fairly young to go to university, USA has a Vet discount for ex military.

He was a fireman and a diver? The latter is possible but I think fire rescuers have to be able to carry a live human of a certain weight.
