Lynda admitted at the time she didn't really enjoy her experience because she hated the dresses she had to wear.

She also stated in an interview long since lost to the mists of time that she went in very much thinking she'd be the next John Sargent, so one wonders how she'd feel when Darren had other ideas.

I don't blame her. I said at the time she always looked better arriving for training than anything Wardrobe cobbled together for her on the show.

I always thought Linda Bellingham was a tough cookie, with quite an arrogant side to her. I remember her being on a Gok Wan programme where he was going to dress her. She was quite abrasive, and said she usually bought her clothes from top designers. I wasn't impressed with her on Strictly, not taken in by her genial facade I'm afraid.

All he has succeeded in doing is make himselof look very foolish and vindictive. He has created a great deal of antipathy towards himself and empathy for Darren (bless him). I am sure partners such as Jill Halfpenny (still my second favourite couple ever after Mark and Karen) would vehemently disagree.

Darren was a great pro and a great teacher, so this seems more than a little unfair- Both himself and Lila were example of pros that wanted to teach their celeb to dance to the best of their a ility- I mean look at what he achieved with Jill Halfpenny, their Blackpool jive is the best dance I've ever seen and it's 10 years on

I think Lynda was insecure about her looks and being a curvy woman. It appears that the dress designers struggle with a good look for women who are carrying a bit of weight - look at how Vicky Gill said last night on ITT that it is so "easy" for them this year with all the slim women they have. So I can sympathise with Lynda for feeling self-conscious.

Regarding Darren being dull or whatever, well maybe he was but that is not a crime. She never said a bad word about him other than they did not have a laugh together. he treated her well and with respect all the time.

What Lynda said was in private to her husband and it should have stayed that way. I say another headline where he said that Lynda "begged him" to marry again after she died - well I find that hard to believe. Yes, she might want him to be happy again somewhere down the line but that sounded like an excuse for him to get the leg over, to me.

Grubby little man. And well done Darren for your dignified response!!
