HI there I am hoping some of you experts can help.

My Aunty and Uncle have been successful in getting tickets for the show on Saturday. I was at the final last year and I had a guaranteed ticket so I don’t know how the usual ticket ballot thing works.

Please can someone let me know what time realistically do you have to get there for on the Saturday morning to ensure a seat. I did see people going to get in the queue with their camping chairs and flasks and then coming back later with a sticker on.

Thank you in advance for any helpful tips

Julie

Thanks Maccadanny but most of it was from 2013 and 2014 I think and I’m not sure if it was different this year. Was hoping someone on here was there on Saturday evening

I don't think it was live last night was it? Looked like they filmed it from the Friday show.

I think it was live yesterday. My daughter had tickets for the Saturday show, but was unable to go.

This post seems to be the most useful & recent. Seems the secret is to queue early, get validated then you have most of the day to yourself.
Posted on Facebook today... Validation is at 9 now... Queing from as early as 2 am!

*******
We got there at 5.15 and we were numbers 15 and 16. Numbers 1 and 2 were there at 2am which is a new strictly record! Ticket validation is now at 9 for this series hence everyone was queuing there earlier. Went back at 5 to wait in marquee until ready to go in to studio. XX
******

****We went back for 5 pm and then were taken into the holding marquee where's there is a bar and snacks sold. There was also a strictly photo booth if you wanted to have a photo taken. Waited there awhile as they were still practicing the group dance. Went in to the studio in our number order that we were given yesterday morning. The lower the number the closer to the dance floor. We were 15 and 16 and were at the bottom of the stairs going up to Claudia so not seen in camera but lots of opportunities to speak to the professionals and judges before filming. Then they recorded a group dance for tonight's show which is amazing! Then they went live at 9. It's a long day but so worth it. 😀😀

Hi Jules. The spoiler team are still looking for a mole, so if you could get the information from your Auntie it would be brilliant. Even if she phones you after the show & you text the results.

abigailsmum would be the person to send the details to. You could sort this by PM. Many thanks either way.

HI,

I thought it might be helpful to write down our experience of ticket validation and attending the show last week (Saturday 3rd October 2015).

Having used this forum ourselves, it seems that the most useful information came from here, so thank you.

My son and I decided to stay the night before at the Ibis Hotel because we got the distinct impression that being turned away at the gates was a definite possibility! We got up early and headed to the queue for 6am. When we arrived there was a queue of approx 50 to 60 people (the earliest to arrive has got there at 2am!!
Check your ticket for where you have to queue; I noticed at the last minute that we had to queue at the Maxwell Road entrance. You can easily find Maxwell Road on a map, when you get there, head to the end of it (it's short) and you will see a red and white car park barrier at the Community Hall; the gates you're looking for are opposite the Community Hall. The queue then runs along the footpath adjacent to the playing field.

We queued until 9am, during which time a member of BBC staff was on hand to answer any questions. Ticket validation began promptly at 9am when members of staff wearing high viz, scanned our tickets and put a numbered sticker on them. That was it! Validation complete!

Just to clarify as there was some confusion in the queue, that number isn't a seat number, however, it does mean that you are seated from best seats to worst seats in numerical order. So, those with no 1 got the best seats and went into the studio first, followed by no2 and so on until everyone is seated. We were numbers 57 and 58; we were seated behind the judges and sat next to Tess all night between her links!
If you want to be in the front row, you had better get there early! Having said that, we had a great view and it was hard to see any seats that would have been a disappointment.

After validation we were asked to return at 3pm for admission to the marquee; security checks were done, phones handed in and we started to go into the studio around 4.30pm.

We had a fabulous time; the whole experience was well organised and great fun. I recommend anyone who is lucky enough to get tickets to go.

Just a quick note to finish; whilst queueing for 3 hours obviously lots of people arrived after us. Some were still arriving when we left at 9; all of those people got in that day. In fact I spoke to lady in the interval who said she hadn't arrived until 13:30 and she still got in! They apparently took 500 members of the public that day so I believe it depends on how many guests of contestants and production there are; then they seat as many of us as to fill the audience.
I don't regret going early though! I wanted to be sure as we had travelled a long way and didn't want to be disappointed. It was good fun with everyone in the queue but you will have to make your own call about how early you go!

Thank you for posting that George. I really enjoyed reading it. Why reading the experience of someone standing in a queue should be quite so interesting I have no idea but it was. Thanks for sharing your experience.

thanks for the info George!

If I was every lucky enough to get tickets I would have to travel down the night before to ensure I was in the que early enough!

well done those queing at 2am - Im not sure if they are dedicated or just mad!!!!!

I am surprised the people who arrived at 1.30pm got in but as you say, I guess it all depends if you have a week where there are not many production guests - not sure I would risk turning up at 1.30pm tho for fear of not getting in!

Glad you had a great day and thanks for sharing
