Anyone else curious as to how both acts are still able to sustain a career when neither have had any hits for years Saturdays greatest hits flopped and pixies last two albums haven,t done well even if they are on a 360 deal surely there has to come a time when that if no one is buying their records surely they should call it a day.

Neither are flogging anything at the moment so i don't see your point. The Saturdays are on a break anyway. Plus Pixie has just finished a three month stint in the theatre doing Breakfast at Tiffany's.

I could have understood this thread when either were actually releasing any music.

I think Pixie just tries anything and everything.

I'm not convinced the Saturdays will ever come back from their "break".

So many artists these days are on 360 deals. Even Union J are on one and currently recording their third album!!! These sort of deals benefit both the artist and the label...if their music doesn't sell well then the label still take a cut of their earnings from other work such as reality tv shows etc. It also ensures that the artist/group remains signed.

I'm surprised about The Saturdays. I'm not a huge fan, but they have some really good songs. They should be bigger.

It means that the label gets a cut of any money a group/artist earns outside of music. So for example the pixie lott doing say modelling or strictly then her label would have got a cut of the fee and a cut of anything else she has done

Think they would be bigger if they appeared on a reality TV show and had Simon Cowell's help Fair play to them for doing it the harder way.

I think they did have a reality TV show in the US. I don't think it boosted their popularity over there much. Some good bands really struggle, but some mediocre/bad bands make it to the top quickly and with ease. I won't mention any names, but the Simon Cowell comment relates
