I have a T-Mobile pay as you go SIM card that I rarely use but always keep finding that the credit on it has disappeared when I haven't used it for a couple of months. Does anyone know more about this and how to prevent the credit from disappearing?

Make a chargeable action at least once every 6 months.

Having the credit disappear is a bit scummy though. Is that normal behaviour for EE? Do they actually take the credit after only a few months of inactivity.

I had to reactivate a dead O2 SIM recently. It took another call to get them to do it, but it was pain-free for customer services to put the credit back on

I tried doing that by giving a phone a one ring. Does that count? Or do I actually need to use a bit of credit?

A chargeable event would be if you answered the other phone, if you just let it ring it won't count. You could also send a text message or do a bit of web browsing
