Thought she was good, think she could easily fit into the villain mould if she makes the lives though

Why should she be a villain? Comes across as very pleasant, with a good voice. The only problem she has is that she does not sing the genre of music that they like their winners to do, thankfully in my view.

She was really good! No More Drama is one of my favourite songs of all time! I hope she goes far this time!

She hasn't had enough success here to support that statement

Absolute rubbish. She's sold 50 million albums, 25 million singles, been Grammy nominated 30 times and won 9 and been at the top of the music industry for a career that has so far lasted 24 years.

Just because YOU don't know much about her and, lets be honest, you've always claimed R&B and soul isn't big in the UK - I remember having a similar discussion with you re Kelly Rowland and Destinys Child - doesn't mean that she doesn't have a huge fanbase that you have no idea about.

And I respectfully say you are completely wrong and know very little about her market and fan base here

i was expecting better from gifty than last night, i thought she was good last year but last night seemed to fall into the usual x factor trap of getting a bit shouty

you must have muddled her up with someone else I reckon. In no way was she shouty at any point.

She strikes me as someone who's close enough to the confident/cocky boundary to be portrayed as difficult/cocky

If she got to the live shows she would be pencilled in for an early exit

Black female acts have struggled to get the votes in recent years and usually depart early over the last three four years

Overall, solo female acts especially have struggled to get votes with the exception of a handful.

Its not the public that don't want them to do well, its the people that run the show.

Anyone can get a bad song choice early on that kills their chances off.

I liked Max last year, I thought that his sound and vocal was pleasant to listen to, but the song choices came at the lives and bang he was in trouble and came 9th, plus they kept persuing the Reggae angle with him too much when he always sounded more Folk.

Gifty was on the Lorraine show this morning, and came across very well. It was nice to hear her say that her favourite genres of music are jazz and soul.

The fact that they have given her a slot on the Lorraine show indicates that they want her to do well.
