Fixing swing arm wall mount to plasterboard wall
Hi folks,
I'm sure this had been asked before (many times) but I can't find the solution to my predicament. I'm just about to move into a new build house and I need to hang my children's bedroom TVs on internal plasterboard stud walls. The studding behind the plasterboard is the metal frame type at 600mm centres so isn't ideal to screw into and isn't anywhere near where I need to hang the TVs anyway. The TVs are only small 19" LCDs. The swing arms have 2 fairly large holes in them for the large diameter self coloured screws which look to have approx. Ø5mm threads. Would anyone be able to recommend any simple methods of fixing the mounts to the plasterboard walls? Many thanks! |

I used these back in the day and that was to hold up a bracket for a CRT TV. It was only a portable but even so it was well over the weight of a LCD.

There's also a heavier duty version of snap-toggle fixing if you want to play it safe.

Screw it to the metal uprights - flat would be fine on plasterboard fixings, but swing out brackets put a LOT more pressure on the wall.
