I'm sorry, I didn't see anything really good. Besides a lot of people won't vote for him as like me they remember him as the guy it became embarrassing to dance to or like, then he married a so called model, then they both wanted to be famous, did reality rubbish, she changed name, blah blah blah etc

I am put off by all the pushing forward of him, let people make their own minds up

As a personality, I don't mind him. He's cheesey, but inoffensive.

As a dancer, he looked confident, connected and in time with the music. That said, I don't think his technique was particularly good. Janette is good at covering up problems with technique by using explosive choreography and over-dancing to compensate for her partner (Jake, anyone?). I think he'll do fine, but I wish Janette would tone the routines down and really work on the technique of each dance, because I think Peter has the potential to be a talented ballroom dancer if the basics of each dance are not neglected in favour of edgy choreography.

this is absolutely why I was disappointed Peter got paired with Janette - Peter has the potential (I think) to be, quite possibly, the best celeb to have ever taken part on Strictly but I dont think Janette will teach him the basics to enable him to do this - I would rather have seen him with Natalie or Aliona if I am being completely honest as I think these 2 would have taught him the basics of each dance before working on the wow factor

Totally agree with you. I like Janette, however I think that she struggles with some of the basics and as you say has to make the most of the 'Wow' factor in her dances. Never rated Jake all that highly though his dances were very entertaining to watch.

From the first viewing of the clips on the BBC website I was disappointed with Peter's technical ability. With another partner this could have been worked on from day 1. His dance on Saturday was fun and entertaining, but I thought it was overmarked.

Plus he has a really strong work ethic and enters into everything he does from marrying Jordan to selling prawn rings with total commitment and enough enthusiasm to light up Blackpool. Its a shame he hasn't mastered the art of coming over as sincere though. I am not suggesting he isn't only that he doesn't convey it successfully in my view.

But if he can dance that's all I ask of him in SCD.

It has nothing to do with it. But popularity is a factor when it comes to the public vote.
Like it or not, how a celebrity is perceived by the public affects their chances. I think Peter will be around on Strictly for quite a while yet, so he will have time to win the public over. I still have a hunch that he won't end up the winner though.

She came onto Strictly after her appearance on the televised dance competition "So you think you can dance?"...this being the case, she has a lot of experience in "wowing" an audience that might not have technical knowledge of ballroom/Latin dances - but she doesn't have the experience that many pros have of competing in ballroom/Latin competitions throughout their lives.

He was the best dancer on Saturday. In regards of selling it and confidence. Apart from being jerky (his movements).
Jake started off ahead of everyone else as well. Seem to remember he over did it as well.

He is the best male dancer obviously, as this year the series is top heavy with promising females. Such a marmite character is Peter though - the older ladies at my work can't stand him, from his looks down to his attitude.

Peter was definitely the best male and overall on first two shows - he had the WOW factor - however Jay was very impressive - just at this stage lacks the confidence and required showmanship to be a winner. Aliona will work on that - look at how she made a showman out of Harry. On the Ladies side I think Katie will do well as Anton is v popular and will want to do well this year - also don't count Kellie out - brill actress and her first dance (opened show 1 ) was very impressive.

Peter is a good performer regardless of his dancing. His turn and smile to the camera, half way through the routine, was almost perfect.

Each year SCD has to find 15 British or British resident celebrities - it was inevitable they would eventually come round to asking Peter Andre to be on the show. They had that Jason Donovan fellow on the show in 2011 ...

Peter is the very definition of "marmite". Yes, there are plenty who cannot stand him. Conversely, there are plenty who ADORE him. Twitter followers anyone?? So I don't think popularity will be a problem at all for this man. I also think that if he continues to outshinne the competition, he will win over a whole new legion of fans.

I'm not sure he will win (another Jason Donovan in the making, I think) but let's just leave the guy alone and allow him to let his dancing do the talking before we write him off based on events in his earlier life.

Kelly Brook was forced to withdraw due to personal reasons. Unless this happens to Peter (hope not), I don't see the comparison at all.

And when I say "end of", I am saying a fact is a fact - regardless of the fact that married Jordan, is a reality TV whore, is cheese-personified - none of his personality or previous life will improve/hinder his dancing ability - FACT.

I think some people would rather poke their eye out with a stick than say anything positive about Peter Andre.

Well my wife who obviously has superb taste in men thinks he is a "very sweet man" largely because of the way things fell out with "that $#%£ Jordan."
She usually only has eyes for the footwork, too.

The trouble with Peter, and this has been a problem of his for decades IMO, he just comes across as desperate, desperate to win, desperate to please, it is turn off for me, and no doubt many others.

Now there is nothing wrong with enthusiasm, and he has a great work ethic, and he will certainly be entertaining, but someone needs to remind him and Janette that the Jackson moves are not part of ballroom, nor IMO have there place on SCD.

Will he win, no.
