I'm not sure if the forum has been made aware yet but Kelly clarkson is collaborating with Ben haenow on his first single since his triumphant Xfactor win! They have just wrapped filming the Video in Nashville Texas where Kelly clarkson is from

I know the label are trying to keep this as top secret as possible but I was wondering how well do we think this will do? And is it a risk doing a duet as a first single for a new act?

I for one LOVE kelly clarkson and literally cannot wait!!

I'll judge when I hear the song.

I'm not exactly a fan of Demi Lovato but thought she was great on Olly Murs' single Up. Maybe teaming up with Kelly Clarkson might be a good thing in the long run.

I wasn't that impressed with Ben last year, and pretty much knew he was going to win X Factor the first time he sang Thinking Out Loud. Hopefully it'll be good. X Factor UK really needs another successful winner but I'm still convinced he'll be another Leon, rather than another Leona in terms of success.

Before I say this, I like Ben and supported him all the way through X Factor

To me, getting Kelly Clarkson on board with his first single is cheating [sorry!] as he and Syco know that she is a big star and it'll be a guaranteed success. I'm sorry but if it is a massive success itll all be because Kelly's on it. Fair play to him but if that was me, I would want my first single to be successful purely because of me, not because I got a really successful, award winning singer on it

From the viewpoint of Syco, you could look at their decision to get Kelly on board with his first single in two ways. You could look at it as they really like him so are willing to pay big bucks to get someone like Kelly to duet with him or you could look at it as they basically have no faith in him making his first single a success off his own back and therefore drafting in Kelly. To be honest, i'm really not sure which way it is

I'll reserve judgement 'til I hear it, but I know I'll have to download it to mum's iPad She wanted his winners' single last Christmas and I offered to download it to her iPad for her but she wanted the CD single because it had his version of Man In The Mirror on it

I'm a big fan of Kelly so really looking forward to hearing this.

But how will he promote the single when Kelly is on vocal rest?

Big fan of both artists so really looking forward to this. I'm sure they'll find a way round the promotion while Kelly is on rest.

I'm looking forward to hearing this.

A real shame Kelly is on vocal rest as I imagine an X Factor performance would have been on the cards when she should have been over here on tour.

He's done well to secure someone like Kelly for his debut single.

I'm looking forward to hearing, I love them both. I hope Kelly gets permission off her doctors to be able to perform with him

He should have changed his name. Nobody can remember it. Something like Engelbert Humperdinck !

Ben is lucky to get Kelly Clarkson. I'm sure Simon has done this because he has plans to release it over in America as you need a established artist most of the time to get in to the american music charts. It just shows syco have faith in Ben and want him to be successful.
I can't wait to hear the song. I wonder if he will still perform that single on xfactor without Kelly.

Precisely Olly Murs ft. Flo Rida was the same.

Complete vocal rest should mean what it says. If she can't do the tour she shouldn't be doing any promo work. Had a ticket for Wembley and would hate the thought of not getting to see the tour only to then see her performing with the latest five-minute wonderkid who'll be back to obscurity and the cabaret circuit in three years time.
