They can't be expecting him to stay in the show long, he will be due At Philip Island in Australia the weekend of 16/18 October for the Moto GP.

Don't think I've ever known a lesser-committed celeb - save Jerry Hall maybe. At least she was there PHYSICALLY!

Bet Ola's so glad she got over her injury to be invited back for another Strictly stint...

Precisely - when we could have had Jeremy & Richard Madeley battling it out for this year's dad-dancing honours...!!!

we could've had a more comedy act.

i don't feel sorry for Iwan, that he can't train, because it's his own fault for having busy schedules.

Iwan should be hoping, Kirsty does worse in the latin, that could save him.

or that the fanclub of DOD is a Irish Myth.

He has to work! People have to earn money to live. Some of the celebrities are in the fortunate position of having more spare time than others.

I don't believe anyone does Strictly for free...
Iwan is being paid (significantly more than I'll earn in the same period) for his time.

That's fine but what happens after Strictly? Do you think he's paid enough for the show to see him into retirement? Most work places don't give people four months off to earn some extra cash and then welcome them back with open arms.

The public will vote him out in the first elimination, it is so obvious he is not committed at all. If you can't commit properly, don't sign up! There are plenty of celebs who have been in preliminary talks with Strictly who chose not to sign up because they could not give it their all. Wish we had gotten a more committed celeb.

Obvious to whom? You obviously but I don't think you can really speak for "the public"!

I thought on I TT he said he wants to do better. The music did not help him last week either. They cannot all stay to the end but perhaps he is hoping for a few weeks.

If he is still in that weekend will they give him a free pass? I know they do in exceptional circumstances - illness or injury etc - but presume he will only get it once as it would be unfair to the others. I don't think it is his fault so much as the producers, if they were aware of his schedule they should have chosen someone else. Lack of rehearsal time is one thing but if he can't do the actual Saturday show then it is a bit pointless.

I don't understand why people are blaming Iwan for the situation he was offered it so why shouldn't he take the opportunity given to him? They may never of asked him again and it doesn't seem to be a problem for the producers (who probably knew his schedule for the start) so why should he worry about it?

I don't watch Moto GP but is there not more than one presenter? Can someone not cover for him for one week if he is still on strictly?

I just think it is a shame if he cannot or does not do fairly well, even if only because athletes generally have done ok on the show and I had hopes for him on that basis.

Kp2ni, I believe Iwan co hosts the chequered flag show with Craig Doyle after the racing as finished. He could very well be replaced with James toseland, or any ex riders as a couple of one offs

Thanks.

I was just thinking of F1 and Suzy and David are always there but Eddie seems to be dropping in and out and they added a couple of new pit lane presenters as well so that they always have cover. I remember James Toseland was once rumoured to be doing strictly but it never happened

So presumably Kellie shouldn't be in it either as she is committed to Eastenders and they are about to start their busy filming schedule for the Christmas episodes.
You obviously just want the show to just feature unemployed celebs who can commit to 12 hrs training a day.

Iwan has his career on the BBC to think about. The BBC may have pressured him into doing the show because they were struggling to get male celebs.

Surely if he's still in during that weekend then somebody else will be taking over? Maybe it's just preliminary.

I wondered why the Judges said something about him being there, perhaps he is not training due to commitments. Why sign up?
