Yes I know Here's Where The Story Ends was originally by The Sundays but in 98, the year you reckon your song was out, it was Tin Tin Out's version that was all over the radio.

Bloody hell!
I thought you might have guessed from my comments that I am extremely familiar with Here's Where The Story Ends, having bought the album as soon as I saw The Sundays' video on Snub TV (or Revolver, or similar). That awful, bland rip-off by Tin Tin Out certainly wouldn't have been erased from my memory banks, although I perhaps wish it had been.
