Wow, most of these articles are so interesting! I'm especially surprised a garment like that has survived for so long - what a find.
I hadn't heard about Peterborough's Pompeii before. So much stuff going on and I didn't have a clue.

King Tut's Great Grandparents.
Yuya (right) and Tuyu are looking pretty good considering that they are a mere 3,400 years old. ![]() http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2...res-yuya-tuyu/ http://news.nationalgeographic.com/c...apt.1190.1.jpg More photographs of Yuya. https://nizinlopez.files.wordpress.c...pg?w=545&h=707 http://anubis4_2000.tripod.com/Speci...6pics/Yuya.jpg |

Do you think there will still be a human race on Earth in five millennia? I have a feeling we will have wiped ourselves out by then or climate change will do it for us.
Despite all that primitive religion, wars and the dark side of human nature can throw at us the march of science will light the way forward. Unless of course we invent an AI network that suddenly decides we are surplus to the requirements of it's needs or the planet. ![]() The surprising things that are missing from ancient art. http://phenomena.nationalgeographic....m-ancient-art/ |

If only the old papyrus had mentioned aliens coming down to build the pyramids. The writer missed a trick, there.

I do hope that some of the damage done by those IS savages can one day be reversed in the archaeological jewel of Palmyra.

Can you imagine the impact if Nefertiti's intact tomb really was found?
I bet the Egyptian tourist industry is bloody holding it's breath! ![]() I saw a documentary where an annexex contained the embalmer's materials and detritus, not the longed for tombs. But if it is her tomb, it would be wonderful if they could make a facial reconstrucion from her mummy - she is so beautiful. |
