I watched them perform tracks from the album the other week in the U.S on YouTube and the songs didn't sound great. They work best when they do stuff like Move and Salute, not this rubbish.”

I think the video for Black Magic and this one are so silly and childish. They're not school kids! Plus the chorus for this new song is a complete rip off of Be My Baby by The Ronettes. Oh I know they've gone for the Spector sound but it's not just influenced by that style, the tune of the chorus is almost note for note the same. Btw, what does Love Me Like You mean? It doesn't make sense. Love Me Like You what? Love Me Like You Do makes more sense.
Anyway, disappointed. I have their first two albums but, going by the singles from this new album I won't be rushing out to buy it if the rest of the stuff on it sounds all like this.”
Well, thank god it's not just me then. I have to say that Get Weird sounds like it should've been their 2nd album, and Salute would've made a better 3rd album. They work best when they are doing R&B-pop songs, not crappy Katy Perry-esque throwaway pop. The lyrics for BM and especially LMLY are so stupid and meaningless ("He might got the biggest car, don't mean he can drive me wild" / "They try to romance me, but you got that nasty"). I'm not saying they have to portray themselves as vestal virgins forever, but songs such as DNA, How Ya Doin'?, Pretend It's Ok, Case Closed, Salute, About the Boy, Towers, Boy etc were far superior to this dross.
So obvious they're trying to grab a piece of the US tweeny-bopper audience.
