They did this with the 5 as well which annoyed me. The only shop that sold them to us was one in Perth. They wouldn't sell them to me, but about a half hour later the Mrs went in and they sold them too her!! Dunno if the low cut top she had on helped haha!

Thinking of a change from my Z2 and getting one of these...

Well apparently USB 3.0 controllers still generate quite a bit of heat and use more power compared to USB 2.0 controllers so the Nexus 5X/6P will be 2.0 only.

I guess that rules out TV output on the 5X/6P too.

I would suspect most Nexus owners use chromecast to beam to their TVs.

I agree daft idea might as well not be there for me, if the phone is on my desk or a table i now have to pick it up and fumble for the sensor.Rather than just place your finger on a front sensor.Hopefully it will still have knock code so you can unlock it that way.
If you dont want to use the finger scan, you can use the smart unlock to do the same thing, without needing to pick up the device. I think it works across location, bluetooth, nfc and face recognition.

I bought the Nexus 4 when it was £150 or something, which was an amazing price for what you got, not bothered since, to expensive, this is more than double the price of the N4, Google have missed a trick with this pricing since the N4,

The Nexus 4 was £239 for the 16gb model when first released. The 5X is priced about right for what you get

Was it? Mine was 8GB I definitely didn't pay £239 for it and it was new, I think I got mine on Amazon or somewhere

It was £239 for the 8Gb and £279 for the 16GB.
I just sold my used( not much mind) 8GB version for £90.

Most yes, but slimport/mhl still has its advantages of nearly no latency, better image/audio quality and no WiFi connection needed.

Seems a shame Google went all out advertising the benefits of USB type C on the Chromebook Pixel, but nearly none of those benefits apply to the Nexus 5X/6P.

Another issue is most type c cables currently being sold seem to be the 2.0 standard, so when type c thunderbolt, slimport etc devices do come to market it will have to be explained users need another cable which looks identical, not exactly user friendly.

I think that was just before the Nexus 5 was announced to clear stocks, I don't think many were sold for that discount price.

A fingerprint sensor on the back is not much good if you are going to use a case to protect your phone

Anyone else having the dilemma of 5X or 6P?

The 6P looks brilliant but I just don't know if I could put up with the size. The 5X looks great as well, but I can't help but feeling that Google purposely cut back on features to make people lean towards the 6P.

I think 2GB RAM on the 5X is a little concerning, especially considering most devices are pushing towards 3GB and 4GB.

There is the costs argument I guess, but it's a shame that while the size seems more manageable, the phone itself seems to have been nerfed in favour of the 6P.

Decisions, decisions.

Cases haven't been a problem for the Huawei Mate 7, Mate S, or Honor 7, or indeed to access the buttons on a G3 or G4.

My Honor 7 has a cut out for the reader. Simple! The cases for the new Nexus phones do too.

To be honest I didnt even consider the 5X as I already have a 5.5 inch device (OnePlus One). I am not sure why smaller screen phones always get lower specs as its quite annoying. In this case, Google were aiming at two markets so it makes sense - on Sony Z5 compact that 720p screen is just wrong.

Yes but how many phone in the 5x price bracket have 3GB of RAM? I dont think 2GB is an issue. Its only an issue when you see there are devices with 3GB. Once devices have 4GB, then people will think 3GB is an issue. I really dont think it is an issue.

I agree with you the 6p does look stunning from the pictures.

I don't even think 1GB RAM is an issue for most people/situations. However an industry desperate to entice you to upgrade likes the idea of gradually increasing it.

In most cases, it's really not like needing more RAM on a computer.

Just got notification from Google that my 5X has shipped today (with Parcelforce). I pre-ordered on 30th September, so it seems that they're now being sent out.
