I love Georgias song I only heard it a minute ago

Looks like an interesting set of music choices!

Hoping Jamelia does well in this dance, because I'll probably be unable to stop myself comparing it to Sabrina Bryan's cha cha to the same song (DWTS): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsEy9wQaVrQ

Sigh. We're never going to get a proper Tango song again, are we.

The ballroom seems a bit all over the place with one AS, one tango and one quickstep. I think it's a very interesting contest of the waltzes between Anthony, Georgia and Jay. I hope they can all do well.

Poor Iwan - I think he's got the short straw again. And possibly Kirsty.

Wow ...I'm shocked ....what a great selection of songs for once. I especially love the ALL the waltz songs .
The only songs that have me Wtf is Ola/Iwan song and a tango to Telephone by Lady Gaga/Beyonce

This show can never get Tango songs right

Daniel and Kristina will be performing the Charleston to ‘Let’s Misbehave’ by Cole Porter.

This will be awesome.

(But obviously it should have been danced to this:

Forgot to say - Kellie and Kevin have a good song but I can't help feeling it's another really twee choice. I hope they won't be in 70s costumes. To my surprise, I've started wishing Kellie had got Brendan and I'm sure Kevin would have coped with Kirstie's nerves very well.

Generally a good choice of songs but the producers are definitely determined to make Iwan the butt of all the jokes. Its an embarrasment waiting to happen & that's why he will be out first on Sunday.

Looking forward to Peter's quickstep - I love "Valerie". Also happy that Anthony & Oti have a nice gentle waltz to a great Simply Red tune which will hopefully not give his shoulder too much trouble.

WTF - Ola and Iwans song??!??! who on EARTH thought that song was a good idea!

not sure about Telephone for a tango either but I give up with tango songs - we had Stop by the Spice Girls last year *rolls eyes*

She's too tall for Kevin.

I called the Georgia on my Mind song (the producers are still going with these themed songs), see the songs thread.

Not that impressed with the choices for Helen and Kellie, especially seeing what the other two CCC's got. You just know that the latter will be a gurnfest, while the former will be a prop fest with limousine, expensive scarfs and a bowler hat (just for once producers, let the posh young British girl perform a sexy dirty latin dance! Please??).

Yes, they do never get the tango choices correct (though you would think they would leave this one for Peter or Jamelia ). On the other hand, it might get them some votes from the younger viewers

Telephone is actually a great song but the band will morph it into a shouty mess no doubt.

Quickstep/Valerie has been done before (Alesha).

That QS was such an iconic dance. ..I'll never forget it. ..Alesha and matthew danced it at the semi final and got a 38. I hate when iconic dance songs on this show are recycled .

I think a lot of them have been done before. Kellie's Cha Cha was done by Lynda Bellingham too I think. And Daniel's Charleston was done by Pamela Stephenson I think.

And I'm sure 'Pencil Full Of Lead' has been used before. Pretty certain the Simply Red and Billy Joel songs have done the rounds too. Possibly even the Pussycat Dolls tune too

Pencil Full of Lead has been used by Ali & Brian and Richard & Erin, If You Don't Know Me By Now has been used by Carol & Matthew, Kara & Artem and Michael & Natalie, Let's Misbehave has been used by Pamela & James, Uptown Girl has been used by Denise & Ian and Anita & Brendan, Don't Cha has been used by Gavin & Katya, See the Day has been used by Jimmy & Flavia, Christine & Matthew and Chelsee & Pasha, Don't Go Breaking My Heart has been used by Lynda & Darren and Valerie has been used by Alesha & Matthew and Holly & Artem.

I didn't even have to use Google for most of that. I'm worried.

I love See the Day. I can remember Chelsee and Pasha dancing to it and it was lovely.

'Don't go breaking my heart' is a timeless classic.

Agree remember it well her comeback dance from being in the dance-off. They should retire songs when they've been done so well before.

I agree with Bendymixer that 'Don't go breaking my heart" has no cha cha beat.

Telephone is actually ok for a tango (technically 4/4 but beats occur in groups of 8 to listener)

I thought Georgia on my Mind was in 4/4 time (Yep, just checked. It's not a waltz.). Could probably convert to 3/4 though

exactly Ann whilst some are great tunes they are not quite right for the dance - that said on checking some dance albums at the dance studio we do have dont go breaking my heart as a cha but it has been re arranged

that maybe so, but it does not have a cha cha rhythm at all - therefore it has to be re arranged or it is useless

Yes. Can only assume that despite the references to the original artists the arrangements will make them quite different to the originals.

First thoughts,

A pencil full of lead is great.
Kind if wish Anton had a traditional tango as he is so good with that and finally has a great partner where he could show off his strengths.
How many more people can do a waltz to if you don't know me by now?

For some reason I just cannot recall this dance!

Was it the same version of the song or was it the Amy Winehouse version?
