It would completely spoil it for me if I knew the result before the Sunday show. No problem with a spoiler thread as long as information about who went is strictly (NPI) contained just within that thread. I've been on other forums where people have made comments such as "no surprise there then but don't worry I won't give anything away" so instantly, if you are aware of that person's other posts prior to the show, you can guess who went. It's bloody annoying frankly and as a result I won't come anywhere near here (it's okay, calm yourselves, I'll be back Monday ) after the Saturday show.

It's not just about knowing the result. It's also about having fun playing guess the spoiler time etc

Personally I would rather chat with my daughter than watch the results show as it is on during our skype get together.

Like anything else, no one is making you know the result. For those of us who like to know & have a bit of fun with things thats fine too.

Its also about talking on the forum to a nice bunch of people whilst waiting for the result.

By knowing the result on Sunday I can enjoy the programme knowing who is going and, if it is someone I support, then sometimes and I don't watch the end.

It's not about that - its the con perpetrated by the BBC that they return for another show.
I simply cannot stand all the repeats of Saturday night and the extra pro dances. I want my Strictly fix in one go and if I don't know the results, I record and FF the Sunday show until they get to the results bit

I wouldn't worry too much even if we don't have a spoiler source. There was a couple of hairy weeks last year but someone delivered the goods

I think people just have to remember not to be too overtly suspicious when ad hoc spoilers come in. I know the Spoiler Thread is generally a fun place but it can get a bit accusational when that happens and may be a reason some have been put off from putting themselves forward in the past?

I remember a couple of years ago it got quite nasty with wrong information getting posted deliberately by a troll. Followed by accusing a reliable & trustworthy regular of lying. There was so much spitefulness they stopped providing a spoiler

Which is why the system of texting one of the regulars helps to ensure continuity.

I remember that too and it was got most unpleasant. Hopefully, even if we don't get anyone coming forward for Saturday, we will still have a thread and fingers crossed we will get the information from somewhere.

What I wonder is why some on here seem to find it so difficult to understand that not everyone wants to wait around until Sunday night or is able to watch on Sunday nights some of us like the spoilers and being able to dip in get the result and not hang around for the BBC playing lets pretend were live or want to enjoy the results show without the stress of not knowing the outcome. So its only a day but if someone is really worried about a favourite at least they know and can either wallow or relax and enjoy the results show without the stress. Spolier threads are not difficult to avoid for those wanting to wait around for the result although honestly dont get the anticipation thing for this as surely if you are worried about a favourite its better to know than prolonging any agony. Although I dont post much in the spolier thread I do read it every week and means I can choose to watch or not on a Sunday or if I have to miss it know Im not missing out as I have the result.

For the people who want spoilers wasn't it always someone who knew someone who was going who got the spoilers? Try people on twitter

Am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I have never seen anyone post the spoiler on Twitter until AFTER it has been posted on here.

It will be most interesting, if we do not get a mole ( which seems increasingly likely now ) to see if anyone will actually provide the result via Twitter.
( I would of course be very pleased if they do ).

According to a friend (she is a member of the group) there is a few people going this Saturday on a 'Strictly Come Dancing' Facebook group... I didn't know if anyone else is a member and could do a spot of persuading?? 😉

For anti spoilers, it ruins it and you cannot unknow.
It is hardly ever kept out of other areas of the forum, people usually accidently say it elsewhere.

For those who like it, you can have it your way, but for those who don't want to know it can be pretty much impossible and therefore ruin the Sunday show. I see no point in watching something that I know the result of, be it a match or reality show, it loses it's shine.

Long shot but a search of twitter for strictly tickets seems to come up with a few people who have tickets. If anyone on twitter is a bit bolder than I am about asking favours from total strangers.........

Thanks for that Andrew, we might get lucky if someone from here is a member of the group...or at the very least, they might post the info on their FB group page

I think you are way over exaggerating spoliers being posted outwith the spoiler thread people do not generally go posting spoliers all over the place it happens occasionally and is usually very quickly removed and still does not mean those of us who want to know should lose out. Certainly when it does happen it is accidental and if it is outwith the SCD section then well its still hardly the fault of the spoiler thread.
