If you have access to an iPad plug (or other 2.1-2.4w charger) it's capable of charging much faster than it does with the standard charger.

I was using the phone all day as I just got it, I've installed probably over 100 apps, I've played many hours of games, watched about an hour of YouTube, gone through social apps like Facebook/Instagram/Vine/Snapchat/Whatsapp for maybe 2 hours, and generally scrolled through the settings and opened every app I have on the phone to check it out, oh and a couple of phone calls.

To sum it up, it's done better than I expected considering the size of the battery. But my god, it charges SLOWLY when compared to fast charging my Nexus.

I am happy I got the TSMC as I've read it's the better one in terms of battery life. Performance is blazing fast when using the phone and it doesn't seem to warm up at all. The only problem I've noticed is when unlocking the phone, almost every single time, it will lag for the first 3-5 seconds, almost like the A9 chip hasn't fully woken up.”

There is an annoying animation/parallax feature that for unknown reason is on by default on iPhone's that animate the icons on unlock and slow the phone down for no good reason.

To disable this just go into settings - general - accessibility and make sure the reduce motion button is set to on.

You should find the phone unlocks much quicker

My reduce motion button is off and yet my phone unlocks instantly (faster than I can get my finger off the button after pressing it).

The icons are not animated, it's the picture behind.
Anyhow my parallax is on so reduced motion is off and have noticed no slowdown issues when turning on my 6s+.

I would agree, the unlock is so fast on my 6s that it's starting to screw with my Air 2. Just a quick click and release and the 6s is unlocked and ready to go while the Air needs a click and hold. I'm forgetting the hold bit on the Air of late .

Checked my 6s earlier after it's first full charge yesterday and i've got 31 hours on standby and 6 hours of usage and i've still got 29% left. seriously impressed with that.

A bit confused how you have got 37 hours of time with only 24 hours elapsed (given you posted this morning)

Good point actually

I unplugged it at 100% charge early yesterday as well - the charge stats must be borked.

I don't believe this for a second All I ever hear these days is people moaning because they have been left with a dead iPhone halfway through their day. They're annoying the hell out of me.

That is truly amazing. What were you doing for the 8 hours? I assume nothing too intensive, as if that's 8 hours screen on time it can't be playing games or using a lot of mobile data?

Knowing me, it was likely listening to music, either locally or on spotify, while I was out. There's also surfing on safari and some youtube stuff, as well as calling and texting.

Funnily enough, i charged it last night and, at this exact time of typing, i've got exactly 7 hours of standby with exactly 1 hour of usage and i'm down to 87% of battery already which seems a bit excessive !

Ah, listening to music is pretty light on resources. I was thinking you were meaning mostly (or all) screen on time, but that's still impressive.

People want all day battery life, and as I've written elsewhere, that's all day even when you use the phone a bit more than usual for a multitude of reasons.

If you can get 2 days or more sometimes, that's fantastic, but what nobody wants is a dead battery late afternoon, or even 9-10pm if you've been out since 8am and aren't getting home until midnight or so.

Power users should be able to have at least a day from their phones these days.

Radios on, web browsing, video playback, screen on for a good portion of the time should all be doable on a single charge.

No smartphone should be running out halfway though the day anymore.
