HUMAX HDR-FOXT2 recording issues.
This was working fine and I feel I know how to use it - but - you are never too old to learn.
It has stopped recording some channels. I go to Menu to select so i can watch it and it has 0 mins. 1. I have the same TV hooked up to it so no changes there. 2. Channels have been checked and updated for our area. 3. Still enough space on hard drive. 4. What is annoying it is not consistent. Would it help if I write down any error messages? Something has changed and I don't know what. Thank you. |

With regard to 2, did you wipe all channels and then do a manual scan?
My first thought is that you are trying to record on an 800 channel which you can no longer receive. |

Something has changed and I don't know what. Thank you. 2 When you say updated do you mean you have done a retune? If so it may be that something corrupted during that process. There are two methods you can use to do a clean retune. First go into the Menu then Settings then Edit Channels then Edit Channel List. Press the Blue button on the remote and scroll to Select All then press OK. Then press the Red button to delete all channels. Then press Green and select Radio, repeat the Blue and Red button operations. Then go back to the Settings menu and select Installation then Automatic Search. Alternatively if the above does not work go into the Settings Menu then Installation then Factory Default. This resets everything back to how it was when you first took it out of the box. But does not delete any recordings. You will need to put back any settings changes you may have made and all recording schedules will be lost. But it may fix any corruption in the memory that is affecting things. After a retune check the channel list for duplicate channels on numbers above 800. This could indicate you are receiving from multiple transmitters. This can cause problems if the "wrong" transmitter has been allocated to the normal channel numbers. To solve that problem you need to do a manual tune which involves knowing what transmitter you are using and what UHF channels it uses. 3 If you have watched everything on the hard drive then try formatting it. Go into the Settings menu then System then Data Storage then Format Storage. If there is any problem with the hard drive this should cure it. As I say only do this if there is nothing on the drive you want to watch as it will wipe everything. |

Thank you all - first of all I have to do a manual scan.
If we allow it to do an automatic search even though our local transmitter is Mendip we end up with Portsmouth I think it is. I check with Digitaluk and at 8 Sept - these are setting I don't understand the meanings but I have just carried out the manual retune. BBC A ch49 D3 &4 ch54 COM7 HD ch33 SDN ch48 ARQ A ch56 ARQ B ch 52 BBC B HD ch58 - it stated No Channels found COM8 HD ch 35 - it stated no channels found So ...... 1. Scrolled through loads I do not want BUT no 800's. 2. Flicking through channels I notice that I don't get one saying BBC HD? Not that we use HD much anyway as on our TV we do not see a vast difference. What do you think so far? Worth setting up recording schedules as an experiment? Thank you. |

It should have found something on channel 58
https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Mendip I wonder if there is also an aerial or cable issue. Maybe chrisjr will comment on that. |

NB you can add these three in on their own. No need to go through all the others. |

Thank you this is sounding complicated - perhaps son will be up at weekend.
This all worked fine before and don't know why is suddenly stopped. Will have another go at weekend. |
