Just for fun...

Imagine if Tess and Claudia were not the show hosts but were recruited as competing celebrities:

1) Who would you partner them with?
2) Would they be more a ballroom or a latin girl?
3) What would be their best dance?
4) Would they make it to Blackpool (and beyond)?

After about 10 years of presenting ITT, Claudia had never learned to put one foot in front of the other. Do you remember Len's Masterclass? Awful.

1) Tess with Brendan, Claudia with Kevin. (Tess would work well with Brendan's seriousness and no nonsense approach to teaching, while Claudia would benefit from a patient and lighthearted instructor.)

2) Tess would do some graceful ballroom, while Claudia would get the crowd on their feet with her zany Latin performances.

3) Tess would do a gorgeous foxtrot, and Claudia would perform a cheeky and crowd-pleasing Charleston.

4) Despite being a competent ballroom dancer and an alright Latin dancer, Tess would be eliminated before Blackpool...with the voting public growing tired of her brash attitude and insincerity.

Claudia would ride past Blackpool up until the semi-finals, despite a few timing issues, having entertained the public with her crazy routines and endearing herself to them after overcoming her nerves in the early stages.

Pretty much agree with all of this!

Tess would be good at ballroom feet wise , i think top half would be awful as i dont think she has the grace for the neck or the elegance of the arms. Latin would be so so stiff and awkward

Claudia would not be good at eithr ballroom or latin .... she would overdo the latin and the ballroom well wont see her frame at all.

3) What would be their best dance?
Tess' i would think tango or paso...maybe even the american smooth ... she can do a fierce face and so so stiff it would suit

Claudia's prob the chacha as she is so cheeky ... or the argentine tango if she can muster the giggliness ....


4) Would they make it to Blackpool (and beyond)? depends on the dances they do

Yes I would agree with most of that ...except...


This. Claudia showed almost wilful incompetence, failing to cope with even the most basic dance steps such as cucaracha's, New Yorkers or even back, side close. Its the only thing about Claudia that has annoyed me( mostly I love her) . She made out that every dance step known to man was really difficult to accomplish and it really isn't. No harder than walking in fact.

To be fair, Claudia has enough trouble doing that without looking like a gawky schoolgirl!

I need to see Claudia perform a paso doble.

Didn't Tess dance in a Children in Need special one year?

Sometimes it kinds of baffle me that in all the years on this show and hosting masterclass with Len, hearing pros talk about dance for years on ITT, she doesnt have at least a sense of rhythm .
Her best dance would be the Charleston...so that she can gurn and gurn to oblivion

Just a small example : when they were doing the pro dance with Up town Funk and she was DJ-ing, even simply waving her hands in a certain direction and moving her shoulders to the beat seemed like a hard task for her ; I have a feeling that as horrible of a dancer that she is , she will most likely last longer because of personality, throwing herself into the dances with gusto and not taking herself too seriously.

Tess would be decent...She will do Ok in the ballroom at least but I dont see her as a Latin girl .Her best dance would be the waltz.

Yes I see her make past Blackpool; she will be the comedy contestant and the public will vote for that ; plus she is really likable.

I see Tess with Aljaz, or Anton and I dont see her lasting as long as Claudia even though I think that she will be the better dancer; simply because she is very divisive with the public.

As much as your post is very true it did, in the main, make me chuckle - especially the "gurn and gurn to oblivion" part!!!

Yes, in 2008 with Anton - they won dancing an American Smooth and got a score of, I think, 36.

I think they would both be good contestants on the show but maybe in different series. Both would probably be best with Anton, they seem friendly with him.

If they are not going to do a full series, then it would be nice to see them on the Christmas show and Claudia on Children in Need, as Tess has already done it.

I don't think Tess would agree to that, she is an animal lover.

I can imagine it now - Tactless Tess and Winklepicker stumbling about with all the grace of two survivors of a train crash staggering up an embankment!

I don't mean about being a contestant on the show, I'm sure that Tess would love to take part as a contestant on Strictly and would do very well.

The scores are always (especially) silly during the specials though.
