Do you think the producers edited bootcamp AFTER the 6 chair challenge?

it seems like the way the footage of the country houses stage of bootcamp has been edited to set up for what the outcome is at the 6 chair challenge. Now let me be clear it's not the filming itself i'm talking about (which obviously happened a while back) but the editing i.e. what they show on our screens.

I had previously assumed the first two bootcamp rounds were already pre-made for our screens before the 6 chair challenge but it now seems they have done some additional editing. For instance, some acts who were given plenty of airtime in their first auditions have been given hardly any screening in the bootcamp stage
Spoiler
you can't help but wonder if Hannah-Marie, Neneth or Sherilyn would have been shown more if they hadn't been eliminated from the 6 chair challenge. Poor Hannah's airtime was cut completely from bootcamp

Also one contestant who was given less than a minute of airtime at the arena has now been given a fair amount of airtime at bootcamp
Spoiler
where they seem to have hand-picked his most arrogant sounding comments as if to set up for his inevitable fall at the 6 chair challenge

Are you guys with me, do you agree or do you think it's all coincidences?

Nothing surprises me with this show now as so much of it is just a set up. They must think that the viewers are very naive.

Strange how they had loads of Tom Bleasby talking but none of him singing on Sunday?

The whole editing is a mess really.

If you re watch the auditions and boot camp with the benefit of the spoilers for judges houses it is obvious those choices are pre planned and if someone shone too brightly or were a threat to producers choices they may not be shown or be given a less than favourable edit

It's NEVER clear what the editing is doing. Fleur was barely in it, the likes of Kerrie-Anne hasn't been shown and as has already been pointed out, Tom Bleasby has been 'dropped'.

Then people like Ryan and Princess Diamond dominated the show only to be cut.

Similarly with that Olly Murs guy who was the focus of one audition show and yet didn't even make it to six chairs in the end.

Well they like to throw in a few characters to throw us off the scent but they are usually not the strongest of contestants

Yea I think they had that Olly Murs lookalike guy on there more as a gimmick for drama really just because of how "creepily" similar he is to the real Olly. I feel Papisediro is in a similar situation, just kept on for entertainment. And yea the producers love to capture all the drama as well as the serious contenders, so they'd have a field day with the likes of Ryan and Princess Diamond. Tbh i don't blame the producers there as it makes good TV.

I'm almost 100% sure the edited bootcamp & some of the auditions after the 6 chairs.
Since a lot of the
Spoiler
Pimped acts are the ones who have seats at the 6 chairs and the one who lost a seat there aren't being shown as much anymore. Also many acts who made the 6 chair challenge haven't even been aired but they didn't get a seat either. Rumour Has It bootcamp wasn't shown either. Just need see the full list of who the final 6 how the shows been edited

They always edit right up until near when the programme is due to air

yea i would agree, but would there not be a point where ITV will say "Ok time to hand over the footage now" but I'm wondering how close to the show airing that point will occur.

What's the name of the fatty from Blackpool? She was on xtra factor quite a bit but not much on the main show.

Before the show even airs, the producers will have 90% of an idea about who will be in the live shows. Don't forget there are three auditions before they even see the judges - they have casting quotas to fill regarding age, gender, race, sexuality etc. to make sure the final 12 are as diverse as possible as well as fitting in with their adgenda for their chosen favourites. The editing is based around that - the ones with most coverage (Louisa, Seann, 4th Power) are given that coverage to give them maximum exposure before the public have to vote. The ones through, but less favoured (I'm guessing those will be Keira, Simon Lynch, Anton) are given small seeds of doubt that restricts their potential once they do get to lives (such as Anton being a diva, Simon Cowell not liking Keira's voice) and the token acts that will be cut at bootcamp who have had coverage, for emotional impact (think Jade Richards, Melanie McCabe previously).

It's planned long before the first audition show even airs, never mind six chairs or judges houses.

He got a chair apparently Simon wasn't happy when he was given a chair and walked over to Nick found that on twitter.

I definitely believe they have a set 10/15 in mind of whose going through to the lives, especially when they ask them questions i.e. trying to get 'storylines' out of them. I mean, there was literally hundreds of people at bootcamp and its plain to see that the likes of Simon, Josh, Bupsi, Monica, Louisa, Alien etc will be going to Judges Houses and maybe the Lives.

This doesn't make any sense in terms of Charli Beard then? She's received a lot of air time and even got the pimp slot at bootcamp despite seemingly not even making Judges Houses. Unless she's being set up as the shock early boot?

Spoiler
one thing i noticed was that she didn't have a backstory in her first audition. all the contestants who make it to the lives usually have one

I agree this is all v strange.. Havva's audition was the focus of one show.. The next minute she is only shown messing up at bootcamp despite the fact that she is through.
And with Charli Beard, I am starting to think that she was predicted to do well and she was a producers fave.. That's why she got more airtime than others.

What id does show is that because an act has a lot of airtime eos'nt mean that they are automatic choices to do well. Fleur had very little coverage last year untill judges houses so it can also work the other way around too.

great point made above that seems to be overlooked here and ties in with something i said in another thread

this is a TV programme, there is no doubt they will try to throw in as many red herrings as possible to create shock value when someone heavily featured in the early stages gets eliminated. this isn't a competition where the rules say everyone has to get a fair chance and equal airtime etc etc. its made to entertain people not to follow a broadcasting equivalent of the marquis of queensbury rules.

I honestly think that Fleur took them by surprise. She was lucky to be in Simon's category as he is probably the only judge who has the power to actually decide who to take through to the lives. She had unflattering coverage before JH, I think she was intended to be early week cannon fodder in the same way Lorna Simpson was the year before, but actually did quite well and they worked with it.

what do you mean by this? are you suggesting the producers are the ones who make the final decisions of who goes through rather than the judges? and all the footage with the judges and celebrity guests at judges houses struggling to make their minds up are all just for the camera when really the judges play no part in it?
