We have had a bunch of threads taking a guess, but i thought i would make a poll seeing as there isn't one yet.

I'm going with Ashley.

I think Lachlan or Chrissie got hold of the gun, one of them was going to shoot Robert but chickened out at the last second and threw the gun away. Then, Ashley finds the gun, picks it up, has a seizure and fires the gun with the bullet hitting Robert.

Ashley found the gun somehow, had a seizure and accidentally shot Robert. That's my prediction. Probably doesn't even know he has done it, poor fellow.

You really think Emmerdale would go with a child after Bobby Beale in Eastenders ? i don't.

The actor who plays Paddy said it's a first for soaps, which makes me think even more that it was Ashley that did it.

I don't know, just seems a bit soon to have another psycho child story

But a lot of us who watch ED don't watch EE so for us it would be a new storyline. OK a lot do watch both but a lot of us definitely don't. Anyway we'll see.

Fascinating times for ED just marvellous of late, I predict someone else if it one of the listed suspects I'd go with Paddy or Ashley. Always the least likely character

That way he can't admit it/nobody will ever know but also it will be easy to show in the flashback episode

Oh yeah, i forgot all about Cain. Charity did go to him and ask him to get rid of Robert. I don't think it is him though

I'm guessing most of those who think it was Paddy are relative newcomers to the soap.
As someone who's watched the soap for the entire duration of the character's existence - there's not a hope in hell of him becoming a cold blooded killer!
And if it turns out it was him - then all Kate Oates has done is prove that she places the importance of a sensational plot higher than the integrity of maintaining the personality history of the character


I still think it'll turn out to be Chas, and she's gone into a state of delusional shock and blanked it out of her memory.
I know it sounds far-fetched and that she appears to have been ruled out already by the "forensics" - but hey - this is the same show that brought back the same little actor to play Archie - and then told us all he was now a "fake" Archie


Aaron is clearly covering for someone - and since I don't believe for one minute it was Paddy, then Chas is the only other person Aaron would cover for.

I'm still going with Doug and I know I am probably completely wrong but the others on the list and in the frame bar Lachlan are important characters and making them the shooter would mean they would have to leave. Doug is expendable.
