I lost my old dog Jasper in February this year aged 18...despite saying I could never get another, I made a decision to re-home a rescue dog.

I have made an album of some photos I took recently...I got him a week Sunday past.

Here is my album...for everyone and especially you kind people who shared my grief and gave me comfort with your kind messages....

Lovely photos and I don't blame you for getting another dog. They get under your skin don't they ..... and for me a house isn't a home without a furry pet.

Its great that you have a rescue dog. I would love to do that, but I don't fit the criteria.

You have given this dog a new life but it doesn't mean you are being disloyal to your old chum. Good on you OP!

Both are gorgeous, Rescue dogs are brilliant. I got an 11 German Sheppard back in April , Don't know how true this is, I was told she was due to be destroyed. I took her, yeah heck there was some issues. Now she's brilliant best thing I ever did.; Its been life changing. Yesterday for example I took her to the seaside for the first time in her life

I'm even looking for a second one

Well done

Mine has some issues, but he's come a long way since we got him. He didn't know how to play for instance...as you can see in the photos he's enjoying himself now.
I need to socialise him with other dogs...he goes crazy when he meets other dogs.

My son says I've lost my grumpiness since I got him

What beautiful dogs.

I hope your new Jasper brings you as much love and happiness as the original!

We never had rescues - manly because I always had young kids in the house but now my youngest are teenagers, when our 14 year old girl died in 2014, we finally took the plunge and got our first rescue. She has been a joy (hard work too). She is so totally different to the old dog - that they never quite fill the hole in your heart but they make a new one. Had her a year now and so glad we rescued.

What breed/mix of breeds is new Jasper? He is a handsome dog.

Your old Jasper looks a bit like my old cross breed terrier. He lived to 18 too.

Your new dog looks like a lively chap.

Good luck to you.

Jasper 2 has similar traits to the original when he was a young dog.
He's a pain to handle around other dogs, but I'll sort that out in time.
The new dog is a Red Fell Terrier.
