I've seen it on a VW demonstrator (i'm looking for a new company car) and it was rather buggy. I managed to crash the system within 5 minutes of playing, froze and rebooted with the VW logo (much like when you crash an iPhone which is rare) and was back at where it left off.. I can see why SEAT held off.
Apple Maps are supposed to be standard with CarPlay and it's actually i found it one of the better Sat nav mapping ... I have access to a lot of new vehicles in my job. It certainly better than BMW's non touch screen / voice activation system stupidy, which just doesn't work very well.
It's improved a lot from when everyone and their dog was bitching about it.”
Omg I've tried the BMW thing when I had to rent a car last year it was painful as hell. I spent about 5 minutes trying to get it understand me. In end I went and got a suction cup mount for my phone and used that lol. I never understand why people think BMW are so good never found that myself.
Worst Sat Nav in a car i've ever used is in a Porsche though it kept saying postcode i was entering didn't exist lol. I asked it plot a journey to Cardiff and I ended up closer to Devon then I did Wales lol. I was driving for ages and noticed a sign for Southampton. Baring at the time I was coming from Manchester.
Though Sat Nav in a Lexus used be about as much use as a car with one wheel.
Agree about Apple Maps I think it's still slightly behind Google Maps but it's far better than anything I've used in a car apart from a standard alone TomTom.
I like the look of the Seat Leon myself if CarPlay is available with it than it has certainly made my list at moment lol. Assume you have go into garage and they will just flash new firmware? When they sort out bugs out.
I heard Apple Car Play is now wireless. Not a problem if it's not as I like to keep my phone on charge in car anyway.
