I thought most of these were really good! And I was pleasantly surprised with Carols as well!! Defo a ballroom girl 😄

I thought Jay and Anita looked the best but Iwan and Kellie - too much flesh on show - not flattering in either case, especially Iwan's. Why must he parade his overly-tattooed torso at all times?

don't forget to mention Georgia, she's properly learning a Waltz.

I agree Jay and Anita outstanding in these short clips - Jay's frame excellent.

It's difficult to tell from a few seconds clip who looks good, from what I can see Daniel seems to be the weakest, saw very little, and didnt have the vibrancy that you expect from a Charleston, not sure Daniels's got any

Everyone else looking good, agree with comments about Carol, she's a ballroom girl.

It always impresses me, you can see the sheer concentration on the celebrities faces

My first thoughts are there are just so many with potential here!

Jay, he is amazing, very lyrical arms which is always so hard to teach the men, naturally gifted, also along those lines, Anita, she just has it, I cannot believe she has never danced before, especially with those kicks, amazing.
Helen looked good, so did Georgia, but I do hope her partner does something about her extended foot as it is causing such an ugly end to her lines.
Kellie looked really great and Peter looked good too, plus Katie.

Wow, I think we may be in for a really good show!

Anita and Daniel O'D stood out for me. Re-the latter

Anita , Kellie and Jay looking really good there . They all seem focused and none look tragic . The only thing is that in training they'll be learning the routine in bursts and those are easier to cope with individually . Putting the whole routine together in one run through will come harder , especially for the older guys .
But yes, all looking good .

Jay - needs to concentrate on his footwork (especially in a Waltz)

Anthony - Still not seen them in hold

Georgia - Looks good, though some of those moves don't look Waltzy to me, Gio

Jeremy - Will struggle with the lifts (better suited for someone like Janette or Ola)

Carol - Looks better, but a very serious training session (even stern Pasha )

Ainsley - Looks like a Charleston to me

Daniel - Doesn't look like a Charleston

Iwan - ...........................

Peter - Still looks very strange to me

Anita - Good energy, but the clip didn't show the side by side

Kirsty - Yeah, it's a salsa (just answering the obvious question there)

Helen - Those legs What? Yeah, it was nice (finally some hip action)

Training films can be very misleading, especially this early on where performance will change, either for the better or worse, so much on the night. But just going on that, looks like Carol will have a much better night, and not looking too good for Kirsty. A lot of them tbh I just can't tell.

I don't really get why Kellie and Kevin seem to be in hold so much for a cha cha? Is that odd or do I just not know a cha cha when I see it?

I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for Iwan. I'd like him to have a dance he can be proud of before he goes, I don't want him (or anyone) to embarrass themselves, and I'm a bit dreading this cha cha, particularly if he's practising with his top off because he's going to have his top off for the dance.

Is all the training footage taken at the same stage, does anyone know? It seems weird to me that some ballroom people are in hold and some doing that 'hugging' sort of hold, but perhaps it's different days?

Jay should be good, he has already had plenty of dance training.

I saw a video yesterday which shows that he is already a good dancer. He can even do lifts(11.57mins in) so he really is no beginner to dance.

The video is quite long but if you are interested and stick with it it is pretty interesting.

Well that's bloody enlightening . So who is the pretendy shrinking violet on Strictly .
That's very disappointing . It's not even short bursts of dance for live concerts or similar brief displays. It's proper full length routines incorporating loads of styles .

He's definitely managed to pull the wool over a lot of people's eyes that's for sure.

I don't think there was ever pretense about the fact he could dance.

As for the shyness, I believe that it's real. Performing to a crowd like the one in the video, and performing to millions of people on live TV are very different things. His time dancing was quite a while ago, and in The Wanted, the focus wasn't all on Jay.

Stage show dancing is no indicator of being able to ballroom dance. I know a lot of men who look great dancing with partners in an ensemble (like What's New, Buenos Aires) but I wouldn't call them dancers.

To be fair it isn't cheating, Helen has a lot of dance in her background too, even including latin.

Does make sense how he was so good with the partner work too, he was pretty good with the lifts in the video, should be put to good use
