Anyone else think November 13th is too early to release an Xmas album, I would have said the 27th would have been a perfect release

Still not delighted by this once you've heard santa baby once you've heard it a thousand times, although the tracklist has some new stuff on there so hopefully will be a good album

It sounds early but christmas albums are released between late october and early december. Michael Buble released his in late october.

I am not always keen on christmas albums. Because it's the same ones done to death every year. They always sound the same. But i will check it out.

This is possibly the first Kylie album I won't be rushing out to buy. It's totally unnecessary.

Not really as Christmas starts to get properly underway after Guy Fawkes night anyway (god knows why) and lot of xmas tat will be in the shops already etc.

Heaps of artists release Christmas albums that early, Kelly Clarkson released 'Wrapped in Red' on Oct 25th 2013, Michael Buble released his on Oct 24th, Susan's Boyle's was Nov 8th etc.

Am not exactly keen on Christmas albums either as you can only listen to them for a month or so a year (unless your someone who is obsessed with Xmas all year round). Have just looked at the album list and none of the songs are that exciting, all been done a million times but I am looking forward to the duet with Dannii. But I will give it a listen as I like Kylie.

Kylie;s loyal fans will buy this on release, the album will drop on week 2 and 3 and will then start climbing due to Christmas sales so the date probably works well. I am a Kylie fan but i am not excited about this album, i think its a release just to get her back in the charts but unfortunately it is likely to sell more than her last studio album Kiss Me Once (not her best album either). I can see Kylie doing heavy promotion for this as she is still getting to perform on big shows which helps her and could help this album sell in decent numbers.

I really feel Kylie should concentrate on working on her next studio album and get it right, she has recorded a lot of one off singles and features recently (all mostly terrible) and now a Christmas album and i feel she would stand better to work on getting her next studio album right and try and achieve some success with a brand new album of new material.

Huge Kylie fan but I hate the idea of a christmas album.

Never bought a christmas album before and won't be buying this one.

This kind of disposable album is the one time I prefer Spotify to actually buying the album.

I think Christmas albums/songs are nice little earners for music stars though. If you get a half decent one that can be played ad infinitum for Christmasses forever more (and the preceding three months!) it probably works out quite well.

I've been a fan of Kyle since the start and I couldn't be more disappointed she's releasing something as naff as this. It will be the first time in her music career that I won't be buying one of her albums.

I'm in the 'long time fan, not really bothered' camp. I refused to acknowledge it at all when rumours of it surfaced and I thought we were getting it instead of the +Garibay EP.

I've adored kylie since 1987 and have bought just about everything she's ever released but I can't stand Christmas albums!!! I doubt I'll be getting this one. Disappointing that she's resorted to this. I just hope she releases another proper studio album of original songs again soon. Kiss Me Once isn't my favourite Kylie album, by any means, although there are several songs on it I do like. I loved the Sleepwalker E.P. she did with Garibay too. Excellent songs but the latest Garibay E.P. she's done I'm not keen on at all. Really boring songs to me. I liked the Right Here Right Now song with Giorgio Moroder and Limpido with Laura Pausini, those are great tracks. Absolutely Anything is a fun track too. I'm just disappointed with the latest Garibay E.P. I'd so been hoping for something as good as the Sleepwalker E.P. Oh well, hopefully (after the Christmas album) she'll come back with something really good! I never give up on Kylie!

I love Christmas music and I like Kylie so looking forward to this.

Excited for the Dannii duet too. I hope they both perform at the gig in London in December as Dannii should have finished X Factor Australia by then.

Yes the only real decent song she released the last couple of years was Timebomb and that could have been much bigger with a proper campaign

I never rated Timebomb highly, i regard it as forgettable and Kylie trying a sound that did not suit her. In contrast All the Lovers is her best release in a few years and is one of her biggest selling singles. All The Lovers is a classic Kylie track that i still listen to on a regular basis. If she works with the right people on a new album and lines up a strong lead single and follow up she may do ok. I never give up on Kylie, she has been down before and bounced back, and while she has hit her peak i feel she has hit or 2 left in her yet. It is Kylie after all.

This Christmas release is a filler, not my particular choice of music but i feel she will sell reasonably well with it.

It's a bit early but possibly only fans will buy the initial release then the album will be well positioned in the charts to compete for Christmas sales in December.

She never has an issue getting TV promo, she's a great guest on the chat shows, always gets on XFactor, Royal Variety etc it's the radio AirPlay that is the big issue. Radio1 and Capital see her as old news and without them on board you don't get a hit.

As with others in this thread I'm not overwhelmed by the idea of a Christmas song, but I'll let her off if she delivers a new classic. It's been 11 years since The Darkness had the last big chart hit with an Xmas song, and Leona Lewis had an OK effort the other year, but aside from that it's been slim pickings!

Kylies one of my faves but I wont be buying this. Should have just been a regular studio album with a bonus Christmas Disc.

I think she needs a real WTF moment and she could pull that off maybe for 1 more time in her career. All this fluffy dance while it is fun is not moving on anywhere.

I was 4 when Confide in me was released but looking at her career that was her WTF single I think, it was quite weird and not something people expect from her and it did not fit the cliche pop rules. The whole Kylie Minogue album seems like her ray of light moment to me and after that her Impossible princess album, then it was back to friendly popdance

Timebomb was amazing, and if it had been released by a younger artist willing to get naked it would have been number one. Since women over 30 who tend to keep their clothes on don't have a whole lot of success in the charts these days.

So what does everyone think of the album? It's much better than I thought. Her duet with James Corden is lovely. The original songs are bit meh though.

I'm a massive Kylie fan but this just doesn't excite me in the slightest. I didn't even realise it's release was so soon to be honest. Horrid cover art too
