I think it is quite common for victims of violent or sexual attack to either not report it or not pursue it. I expect it seems like another ordeal on top of the first.

That is a huge mistake and solves nothing he should press charges especially if he has a fractured skull he could of died from concussion. The attacker being brought to justice just may save someone else's life. If police find evidence on CCTV and identify the attacker and charge him he will have no choice to give evidence anyway I should imagine.

The police statement says that the victim was in a "large group of people". This includes the model, Jade Ainsworth.
We dont know for sure what happened, of course, but the idea of her and Denise Fergus colluding in a made up story seems extremely unlikely.
