Period!!!

I saw your posts Devon and even made the comment about the page @justjax was linking to had a fault, he apparently ignored it all and in his next post was going on about how would he know when he is on 4G+ so I thought a couple of direct articles might help him understand.

Crack a bottle of red and put your feet up .

You sure? I gave it a quick google to be sure and I saw this? https://community.sprint.com/baw/ser...-50645/pic.PNG

Bizarre. My family on Verizon had a leaflet with iPhone 6 saying GPRS logo meant 1x.

Maybe sprint different.

I think it goes gprs => EDGE => 3G => 4G and that's about it.
Other handsets may well display differently.
Yes, I work bloody hard, I'm divorced, life is pretty tough. I think a certain level of humour on a Friday or Saturday night wouldn't go amiss.

But hey, that's just me!!”

I think we all deserve to relax and maybe a drink on a weekend, to unwind from the stresses of the week

I think it may have changed recently then. I can find some old pictures that say 1x but nothing new.

There is currently a bit of a problem with 4G+ on the new IPhones myself and at least 3 other friends I know of are not getting the carrier aggregation of 1800mhz and 2600mhz in areas where it is enabled.

I can be in a 4G+ area with my Samsung S6 it shows the symbol and in the technical details shows you are using both bands with speed tests around 85-90Mb that you would expect. You can then add the same sim into a Iphone 6S and in exactly the same location you go into field engineering menu just shows 1800mhz or 2600mhz but not both and speeds top out at 50Mb.

I have tried raising this with EE both online and over the phone all they can say its in limited parts of London which I am often in and we all know there are more and more places around the UK as well. They also said that the S6 shows double speed areas as 4G+ again we all know that's not correct but am struggling to get somebody to take this up and get it looked into.

It's hard to get in touch with anyone at EE who actually understands what you're on about maybe bookey can, if he happens across this but you have no chance with first line talking about anything technical.

Maybe email the EO? Seems a bit extreme but probably the only option, it's what I had to do when my local mast suddenly stopped broadcasting 3G and 4G and no one on first line would do anything cause their system showed no faults

Or get creative and tweet EE, add in a few @Apple oriented sites as well. The embarrassment might make EE look into it.

Sorry everyone and thanks. Went into a bit of a meltdown there.
Been a nuts week and got a bit stressed..
Can we just leave it at...
iPhone 6 / 6+ doesn't do LTE Advanced.
iPhone 6s / 6s+ does.
Cat 4 cannot aggregate 2 different frequencies (eg, 1800 & 2600).
Cat 6 can.
I may be able to calm down then....

It happens to the best of us. Besides I can think of far less healthy ways of taking out your stress, a few funny comments is fine by me

Just one thing though to be pedantic, some cat 4 devices can actually aggregate different frequencies, including the iPhone 6. Of course they can still only aggregate up to a maximum of 2x10MHz carriers so it is of minimal use in this country other than O2 who appear to be doing Band 20 10MHz+Band 3 5MHz.

It seems to be an Apple issue rather than an EE issue though. Someone posted about having the issue on Vodafone too, and the workaround with carrier mods.

uno and Devon . . .

iPhone 6S/6S Plus can do Cat6 however both EE and Vodafone have not updated their carrier profiles yet to enable it.

Lets hope the new 22.0 profile in the latest iOS 9.1 beta turns it on, can't be bothered to go back to the beta to test though.

That is strange. I cannot with the Promo sims but my iPhone picks it up no bother.

I get 4G+ about a third to half the time in London; it's definitely spread far wider than Zone 1 now.

iPhone 6 does 2600. Singlary. This is not 4G+

The iPhone 6s also does 2600 but can combine it with other frequencies to get 4G+

4G+ has expanded a bit. Thanks to the rapid increase in 2600 EE sites around the country they have been able to expand CA quite easily. In London it's way past Zone 1 as you say..

Saw a few 800 sites the other day too, couldn't do anything with them though.. I'm about the same about half the time. Basically most of the time I'm outdoors in London.
I have a feeling its limited (trailing perhaps) operating in Edinburgh but every time I remember to check so far its changed to just 1800 or 2600.. And back to sub 100 speeds.

I've got some CAT5 here and can't find anywhere on the iphone to plug it into. Are any iphones compatible with CAT5? So I can get the internet and that? Cheerz.

Well mine (iPhone 6) is Cat 4 (Qualcomm MDM9625M) but apparently is software upgradable to Cat 6 which I think is complete bollocks!!!

Anyone want to hazard a guess at what's going on here?

Good to know it's being added in the city centre. It's needed too until 1800 is put on max power.

It's fine with iOS9 on a 5C or 5S. It never worked properly on a 6 except for the band field. Any other info was liable to be wrong as it didn't update properly. Haven't tried a 6S but I'm guessing it still doesn't work?
